It's day one for the Rookies, they're being thrown in at the deep end and Officer Bradford gets shot!. And, just when Nolan thought his day couldn't get any tougher, Sergeant Grey informs him that he will do everything in his power to discourage him from continuing to serve, as he fears that Nolan's "mid-life crisis' will endanger the lives of his officers.

Also, again there's a point to be made that by leaving the other officer she nearly got killed, yes she handled it but it would've been a lot less risky if he stuck with her. Everything going as well as it did was due to luck rather than judgement

Bullet proof Crown Vic might be accurate to real life. If she's behind the car and they are shooting into the front, the engine is going to stop those bullets. Sure, from pretty much any other angle, bullets are going to go right through. They just won't do it from that angle.

I also like that when Officer Nolan shot in self-defense, T.O. Bishop said he’s now a murder suspect. And also while they made a close-up shot on John Nolan’s weapon you could clearly see that’s it’s a prop. I also love the occasional holster hoods being down for no reason, creating a huge risk for the officers. Even Tim Bradford does it later in the show.

Am I the only one that feels like Grey was a terrible leader in season 1? Like he became one of my favorite characters later on but in season 1 he didn't seem like a tough but fair watch commander, just a pompous, toxic, demoralizer. Like I get trying to weed out someone you don't think is cut out for the job, but when your reasoning to try and sabotage an officer's career is literally just "he old." You aren't protecting your other officers, you are just a butt hurt idiot. I'm glad they started writing him better/giving him character development because I fucking love later season Grey.

So unrealistic. First up, EMS, never enter a scene without a C4 if there is shots fired or something. And most of the time hostage sits the negotiator is not aiming his gun to get the aggressor to get more calm.
