SKII is a big Japanese skincare brand, they use fermented rice in their ingredients which was based off the women working at the sake factories who had clear ageless perfect skin, and the founders of SKII used this to their benefit and scaled the price up so that only the wealthy can afford it on any type of regular basis..

I'm also interested in trying them! But shouldn't shampoo be more aggressive than gentle? I have thin sparse curly hair so if I don't wash with a shampoo that's going to get rid of most of the oil, dirt, and product buildup, my hair looks greasy and flat. Right now I'm using loreal.

for shampoos and conditioners and leave in products i would say high end products are way better and make ur hair feel so nice and soft. since i used drugstore products my whole life, switching to professional products was a game changer to me and i couldn't go back to using drugstore products!

It really comes down to specific brands and products, and how well they work for your hair. The fact that a brand is “professional” or “high end” doesn’t automatically mean that it’s any good (or will work for your hair), and the fact that another brand is “drugstore” doesn’t mean it’s bad. I’ve had really good drugstore products, and some really crappy high end ones. It’s allll about the individual product. As far as whether or not you should wash your hair everyday goes…it totally depends on your scalp, how oily it gets, and how well it tolerates being oily. An influencer can’t tell you how often you should wash your hair, because that’s a very individual thing. When I was only washing my hair 2x per week, I ended up with seborrheic dermatitis, major fallout, and other problematic changes in my hair. My dermatologist told me to start washing my hair every other day, and all of my problems cleared up. If you tend to get oily pretty quickly, then washing your hair everyday is totally fine. If your hair stays clean/dry longer, you can wait to wash it until it gets a little bit greasy. If an influencer is trying to give you a hard and fast rule, they don’t really know what they’re talking about, to be honest 🤷🏻‍♀️

Washing every day isn’t bad for your skin (scalp). It’s bad for your hair. That’s why a dermatologist would say that daily washing is good. For your skin/scalp, it’s fine. For your hair, not so much.

True, it funny...why all this people are so CONFIDENT claims other lower shampoo are VERY Low quality.I do some research these a village in china called YAO village. U'll be surprised at what they using for their hair. What u see is Pure Thick Black Longest hair u ever seen

Yep! I'll spend for my leave in conditioner but my normal shampoo is Head and Shoulders bc i have dandruff and it works well for me

Packaging, fragrance, etc is a huge part of what you're paying for with professional lines. And mass market products are often slightly more diluted.

I have long curly bleached hair and use Keratin hair mask by Kallos cosmetics is 5€ for a big ass tube and i find it very good especially for combing with it in (my hair tangles terribly). It also helps with the frizzines and dryness bleach gives

You could probably benefit from the ORS Orange conditioner. It smells lovely and it's formulated for chemically treated hair.

I use drugstore hair masks for conditioning my bleached hair. Of course never near the scalp/roots. My hair dresser was surprised how healthy my hair is despite it being bleached and me using a flat iron every day. It’s definitely because of the hair mask for conditioner hack. Before I started doing this my hair would fall out if I bleached it

Not all hair can b combed thru wet, no matter the conditioner 🖐️ Mine for instance, too fine

@@light-tk3pj You should use products that match your hair type, mine is dry. I'm currently using a set from the brand Morrocanoil that contains a shampoo, a conditioner, and a leave in conditioner. Also it's important to use a hair serum/oil after these steps to maintain frizz, i personally go for the L'Oreal extraordinary oil. Hope this helps😊

I'm the opposite. Wasted money for 8-9 years using nothing but high-end stuff. Was influenced to try drug store haircare, and omg, it's just as good, if not better, for quarter the price. I finally have adequate clarification + shinier and bouncier hair.

@@ErZi-uo7fmThat’s where I’m at right now. I spent like 10 years trying to find a high end brand of shampoo and conditioner that actually worked for me. My hair was never really happy with any of them. Paul Mitchell was probably the best, but still just kind of average. I’m not 100% committed to any drugstore shampoo/conditioner just yet, but so far L’oreal has been making my hair feel the best it has felt in YEARS.

Im the opposite! I’m a cosmetologist who tired expensive haircare for years but the thing that works best for my fine flat hair is from the drugstore 😢😂

Yah, I do not trust this review at all. Most generic store bought shampoos contain harsh and toxic ingredients. Pantene, dove, etc, garbage products likely containing endocrine disrupting ingredients. Will they wash and do the job, probably, but they may also cause you other unrelated issues. Your skin is the largest organ on your body and absorbs everything that touches it. But, hey, I’m sure some people still believe that’s a conspiracy.

@@anniebell6846probably but Pantene is literally the worst on the market. The only shampoo that made my healthy soft hair feel like straw and the breakage was insane.

Right! I swear most shampoos don’t even clean my hair good but whatever my hair stylist uses or her technique I can go five days😭. I’m like maybe I don’t just have oily hair and my hair isn’t being cleaned enough from the shampoos. I remember being in middle school and going a week and thought that my hormones changed or something😭. The best ones I’ve tried is the k18 and the ouai detox but even those I can only make it three days and my scalp is irritating. I know last time my stylist used the it’s a 10 so I’m going to try that and a hard water filter cause my dream is to have hair that light and go that long without my scalp being itchy and heavy feeling. I wish I could use the Pantene but I get keratin treatments so I can’t use sulfates :(

I use Neutrogena grapefruit shampoo as a clarifying shampoo and, at one time, apple cider vinegar shampoo. Grapefruit was very good. Still use it occasionally

@@luv1nartfrem the drug store I've used mostly pantene, fructis and also Garnier....now I use System professional ( ketatin protect shampoo), I do a Fist wash with a Little amount of product to remove the oils, dirt etc... then a second wash with a Little bit more product I message It till It foams and I leave It on for 5-7 minutes and then I wash really well

@@luv1nart I wash my hair 2 times a week...the System Professional Is about 20 to 30 € depending on the website...the drug store ones were about 2-3 €... I'm in Europe so I don't know how much they are in $

I get that acne around my hairline from products too😭. It’s so hard to avoid anything that has any oils or lipids in it

I tried the apple cider vinegar because I heard so many great things about it. Sadly, it did not work for me. My hair would look oily on the same day I washed it with that shampoo.

Have you found the ingredient you react to? For me it took a few months but it was phenoxyethanol

Most dollar tree products contain endocrine disrupters. I do not recommend doing this even if you have good hair genetics you aren’t immune to cancer from bad chemicals.

If you’re going to avoid 1 might as well avoid as many as possible… Avoid: Vehicles -fire retardants, plastics, heavy metals, etc… Sofas- heavy metals, stain repellents, fire retardants Mattresses- same ^ Wall to wall carpeting- heavy metals, micro plastics, fire retardants, chemical sprays Charging cords- lead, fire retardants, phthalates, BPA Hardwood sealants- VOCs and micro plastics Laundry products- dioxins Gas stoves- carbon monoxide Clothing- unless 100% natural non colored non treated fibers. Store bought food even if it has the non GMO and USDA organic seals. Shoes- lead, toxic adhesives (plastics), heavy metals, VOCs Medicine- titanium dioxide SUGAR- body poooooison Small rooms with multiple people-elevated carbon dioxide levels And just about every hobby exposes you to terrible toxins. And then there’s the work place… cleaning chemicals, air refreshers, hand soaps, spray fumes, VOCs, And let’s not forget about all restaurant food. 😬 Of course everything I’ve listed exposes us to more than just what I pointed out but that’s not the point. The point is, we can’t just call out one product when there’s a hundred thousand others that are harming our health right now. Dollar tree body products are the least of our worries when we think about the BIG PICTURE of daily exposure. Call for change on all things!!

Is that why my hair is falling out in the shower? I have wavy thick hair. It’s down to my lower back and every time I wash it (2 a week) I drop piles of hair on the shower floor during gentle combing. I don’t understand why it happens.

@@seadragon1456it’s not on sulfates, that’s a myth, you may have an underlying condition or might need to wash your hair more frequently, depending on your scalp health or health overall

Also genetics and diet. Shampoo doesn't make your hair grow, or stop growing. It's a soap.

Exactly. I don't think I've ever used anything but drugstore products and my hair is usually long, soft, and shiny. I really think the secret is no heat.
