Although Pro Bowlers are more open to high rev release that creates more lines in tournaments,
some league bowlers believe that they just cannot do it for no reason.
Similar to spinning a table tennis ball, everyone can do it with proper training regardless of age and gender.
Before giving up and saying "I just can't do it", let's look at the reasons why our bowling method doesn't work for high rev release.

This is very helpful. Do you coach online?

For anyone practicing this, please do not use a high performance ball. More than likely, the lanes aren't oiled for it. Also, since you're not focusing on scores there's no need to use something that cost you a decent amount of money to possibly get ruined by screws, nails, etc that may be in the gutters or machine.

I've been bowling for nearly 10 years been in the league for nearly 7 and I still haven't perfect a technique that my brain can remember. Tried the proper ones like the pushaway methods two handed, the pinky potiion techniques which I learnt from Shannon Okefe on Tech Tuesdays on their KZfaq Channel years ago...I need to find my own style some how. I live in Australia and the bowling centre my league uses, and the oil pattern is an house shot too. Non league nights uses left over oils from previous nights.

@@HarveysWorkshop I'm planning on getting my new ball drilled tomorrow its a Hammer axe Black/Smoke 11lb ball its a low friction reaction cover stock. I bowl straight but when I got my phaze 2 drilled last year I think my pro shop guy gave me the default layout for that ball. So I'm considering picking my layout and let the pro shop guy know what I want.

@@RAM_845 nobody buys a hammer axe. Its not a good ball unless your playing in no oil. Learn to create consistent hook by getting a coach

From personal experience, I had been bowling with wrist guard for 10 years. I did self-learning on KZfaq with a 15 pounds ball until I could flip up the ball in static (no step foul line or at home). I never threw a house ball until I started making video on KZfaq. Since then I decided to throw the ball completely in that way in, no matter in league or whatever. I just began from 120 scores and 15km/hr ball speed again non-stop for 3 weeks. That could be something making the change.

My biggest problem is my ball speed, I feel like I bend my arm too early in the swing which results in speed loss. I've been trying to fix it but with no success. My foot work isn't perfect either so that is another contributor to my poor ball speed when trying to yo-yo

There is no such thing “bending too early”. It is just a tool, many of us just naturally bend from top of swing. You may add an extra mile per hour with a straight elbow due to wider swing diameter. Yet, it is your feet and timing that decide you are throwing 13mph or 18mph…

Yeah im always tense so it hurts me. Also. When sliding I tend to pull the ball snd my ending sliding and ball at same time. I'm getting better with my timing sliding then the ball comes thrum relaxed everything.

Practice with your ball towel put it between yiu body and inside arm and of course the towel is going to hlfall but it will help you pay attention to your swing to feel

The problem is how close to the body the ball starts rolling, so if it starts rolling from in front of the body, it is meaningless! If you loft the ball and release it by scratching it up with your fingers, you will lose the yo-yo principle that you get from the swing, so it is better to start the ball rolling from a position near the foul line, near the shaft foot where you step and slide. As soon as you swing and your fingers leave the ball, you should push the ball forward as you roll it.

I’ve been bowling for many many years and I have no idea what you mean by “yo-yo”. Unfortunately, I didn’t learn anything from this video.
