Forget Christmas, Kuru's nfs marathon is the most wonderful time of the year.

Finally somebody talks about the classic 90s early 2000s NFS games. It seems like these games are forgotten. I loved NFS 2 SE, NFS 3 Hot Pursuit, High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed. They are great and amazing.

NFS 4 on the PC has to be the best of the classics , why is that ? well it has a great career mode , tracks from NFS 3 (the best tracks ever made) , plays really well , fantastic music

Actually, NFS 2 have cockpit cam but for unkown reasons, can't be used in 3DFX mode, you need to open the game on hardware mode which downgrade the graphics 12:57.

Man the classic NFS games have aged so well it's insanely good and depressing at the time, considering that there is zero chance of seeing a remaster/re-release of them, and how NFS is nowhere near its timelessness. The music of those games was also exceptional, crazy how NFS II SE in particular bounces between metal and other genres like it's nothing, wow. So much so I actually took some time to get this game recently, tossed Verok's Modern Patch right in, and I'm ready to experience some nostalgia in higher quality than ever. Curiously, playing II SE in particular gives me '80s and '90s vibes simultaneously. But now the only big question left for me, is, High Stakes. I tried getting this game to run sometime ago, but I'm not really succeeding at it. PCGW mentions a number of fan patches, but no idea which are actually needed, and which are good-to-have, but options. Not particularly interested in the console versions, as just like Porsche Unleashed, they're nothing noteworthy.

It's crazy to think that need for speed 3 hot pursuit was my first NFS game as well. It was at the scholastic book far in the library and 5 year old me would do anything to get it. Along with the PC Tarzan game. Love the series man!

In NFS 3 the best settings is using non-projected lights (Don’t know how are they called, maybe focals. I played the game in spanish) That option lights the first block in front of you.

I think my first NFS was 2, but my dad first introduced me to Test Drive 4, after which he showed me nfs 2 or 3, and midtown madness. My dad got me quite some racing games, I guess in a way because of him I now own a T500RS on a playseat evolution and love sim racing. although I still love my arcadey racers.

It's true, Need For Speed 1 is hard. After much practice, I did the tournament, choosen the right car per class for each track and gotten first position and won the tournament and gotten it's prize - the bonus car. This was amazing back then.

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit was one of the first games I have ever played. So many good memories from that game.

I absolutely love these OG Need For Speed games. My first was Need For Speed II which my father also bought me I can guarantee is the reason I’m also addicted to racing games and 3 is next level hard at times. Ps. You should play the older ps1 erra Test drive games such as the 4, 5, and 6. 5 being the best in my opinion and the most challenging. Would be very entertaining to see how you fair up with the massive difficulty spikes.

High Stakes and Hot Pursuit 2 were the first games in the franchise that I played and got me into racing games.

NFSIII was my first NFS game and I long for the day we have these games remastered.

The Need for Speed SE was my first computer game, I spent hours as a wee fella driving around in it.

my first game and my nostalgia was NFS2SE 0:35 there's Undercover, Shift, HP2010 and MW2012 on a mobile port unless you can setup properly (not counting No Limits bcuz moni)

Still remember some of them, also the notice NFS 1, 3, and GT2 are the most simulating physics of the PSX.

It's very strange, I myself have never played NFS 1. I only ever played 2 SE, I just watched a friend of my dad play 1 some times... yet EVERYTHING about that game triggers my nostalgia, from the races to even just the menu sounds and car images.

NFS 3 Hot Pursuit is the first brake to drift handling from Black Box. I always use it in PS1.

Classic era NFS games>anything that came after. Also, the first 6 NFS (except HP2 on PS2) do not have rubber banding. What you're experiencing is just the AI program being really good at following the track. Later in the series the AI got worse, especially after they introduced rubber banding.

Well the fun in the first NFS is the Duel mode, with traffic and cops trying to catch you.

Is it just me, or is there a significant amount of jump cuts in this video? Like I know theyre necessary to an extent but it feels a bit much in this one. Not hating, just not a fan of the hollywood fight scene style of editing

I would wish they would stop with all the "realism" and "real world" look alike cities, just make up some cities and environments and tracks, go for style and fun.

7:50 i played the need for speed A LOT and as far as i can tell there is no rubber banding, the corvette just sucks and the viper is unbalanced in its class, racing games players just can't stop screaming "rubber banding" everytime they are passed, i also hated that you ruined the amazing soundtracks with those ass songs, apart from that love to see the first entries getting some well deserved love

The only thing I can say is KuruHS is terrible in the first three Need For Speed game. These aren't that hard. You need practice and polish your skills.
