Fun fact: the card deck on the girl's desk in Don't Peek is the Illuminated Tarot by Caitlyn Keegan. The cards are: 9 of Swords (which is about nightmares/extreme stress, and shows a woman peeking under her bed), 2 of Swords reversed (seeing something for what it is, taking off the blindfold, so to speak), and the 4 of Cups (boredom, dissatisfaction, focusing on one feeling instead of taking account for what's really going on). This adds an interesting layer to the video -- she sees her "nightmare" (9 of Swords) when it reveals itself from under the blanket (2 of Swords reversed), after she is engrossed in her game and gets fooled by the moment of relief she has from seeing that the game has disconnected from her reality (4 of Cups). Also, thank you Charlie for being so brave and hiding your sheer terror the whole video!

If done right, that can honestly be scarier (granted, it rarely is done right). The idea that you could encounter something trying to kill you at any given second, for reasons beyond your control, is pretty scary. If the daemon or whatever is acting out of revenge, etc. there are things you can do to avoid incurring death from it. If it's just killing at random, well... you're fucked.

I've dealt with a scarier laundry room than that in a 1930s brick bldg. The basement was a portal to hell with just one light bulb above the washer & dryer. Behind you to your left was a creepy chlostrophobic hall almost devoid of light. There was just enough light to make you see shadows moving. The hall went straight east for @ a block & was full of closed doors. At the end you could kind of see that the hall went right & left - but to where? The end would be under a city street. I was always too chickenshit to find out. Which is why I'm still alive, I'm sure.

Knife fighting isn't as easy as it seems, especially if the other person has a knife. But you are right; holding the knife backward in any capacity is a huge mistake.
@abattlescar2 жыл бұрын
There's nuance to it. Of course there's martial arts that practice with knives like krav maga, or sometimes it's important to learn how to remove a knife after stabbing with it (like they covered in The Walking Dead). Charlie's point is mostly valid though.
@LtCdrXander2 жыл бұрын
If you hold the knife backwards, then you have to raise your arm up then thrust down. The opponent can just grab your arm as you bring the knife down. If you hold the knife forwards and stab, they can't really intercept the attack as easily. Sure, you could hold the knife backwards and try to do a slash by moving your arm up, but that's just inconvenient compared to if you hold the knife forwards and slash.

When wielding a knife the stabbing motions themselves are fairly natural like the sewing machine attack and basic stabs. But things like stance and grappling are also important in melee because most of the time your opponent won't just stand there, they will eighter fight or flee or perhaps surrender. Also, it is possible your opponent is armed aswell so that's where being able to move around and defend yourself and stay stable becomes very important...

The train trick shouldn't have worked when the mime took over. Their mimicking each other's movements, so for the mime to make her walk into the train the mime would have to walk in there herself, and yet somehow the girl got several steps farther forward than the mime did. Maybe they are implying the mime's side was farther from the tracks, but that is completely wrong. In fact, it was the opposite by FAR. Not to mention when you see the mime moving her legs she was just lifting them up in down, not actually walking forward.

I once saw one really similar to the first one except it was in a tunnel and the mime guy eventually slowly took off his hood, so the lady slowly scalped herself by grabbing her hair and slowly pulling of off like a hood along with her skin 😬

First one was filmed at Glendale Transportation Center, in Glendale, California. The station serves Amtrak's _Pacific Surfliner_ intercity rail, along with the Metrolink Ventura County and Antelope Valley commuter rail lines. Based on the shape of the locomotive, the girl got hit by an Amtrak. It seems likely that she was waiting for it, since it was in the middle of the night, when Metrolinks don't generally operate. Also,basedon the fact it was heading south, she must have been heading south, towards either Los Angeles or San Diego. Congratulations, you'll never get that 20 seconds of your life back.

Oddly enough, I don't find most horror films and games scary, but I genuinely find a couple of these creepy. The one game I still get scared by is Alien Isolation.

13:13 Suspiria? Interesting horrorflick by Dario Argento, which also marks the first movie of the so called "Mother" Trilogy (Suspiria, Inferno and Mother of Tears). And there's a remake of Suspiria from... 2018, starring Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson.
