Awesome incredible speakers. I heard these at AXPONA 2022 and said to the perlisten guys who had them setup in a hotel room that they seriously deserved a proper listening room at that show. There were more proper rooms with Wilsons and B&W. Get that junk out of the way, Perlisten is coming!! Probably the best speakers I heard there at the price point and only 1 or 2 were MAYBE better, but one was a $55k Borresen 01 and both were in better rooms. Blown away and on my list of speakers to own. Can you list the tracks you used for this demo? Some sweet tracks!! Thank you for presenting some beautiful speakers in a very well executed way.

Very interesting result with the binaural microphone. I can ear your comments after each clip right behind me, just like I were located where the microphone is! On the first clips it seems that the 60 hz zone is really very exaggerated by the room. I say that because I first saw the video listening with my speakers, And I wonder myself what was going on with the base! Too boomy in that area. Now I am listening with headphones and the same result! now I am happy because there is nothing wrong with my speakers!😅

Hey Ron... Regarding the triple tweeter array (DPC)... Sound and Vision did a favorable review of the R7T's little brother (the R5T) which is a somewhat smaller tower speaker with just two bass woofers vs.four. The reviewer stated that the upper and lower tweeters are designed and crossed over more as upper midrange drivers while the center is spec'd as a true high frequency tweeter. "But look more closely and you'll see two additional 1.1-inch drivers partially hidden behind small metal grilles shaped to blend into the tweeter wave- guide. Perlisten calls this midrange- tweeter arrangement a DPC-Array (DPC for Directivity Pattern Control). The top and bottom 1.1-inch drivers here operate between 1.1kHz and 4.4kHz, serving to smooth the vertical radiation pattern in the range where our ears are most sensitive and to also limit vertical dispersion to reduce floor and ceiling reflections."
@Justwantahover

Also the tiny drivers would be faster than the large drivers for upper med/lower treble.

I know I’m not Ron, but for what’s it’s worth I’ve heard both. The PerListens blew me away and I now have a full 5.2 system on order from them. The Spatials were decent, but didn’t make an impression on me, quick disclaimer though, they were in a bad room so that probably didn’t help them. But they were by no means bad, just not amazing.

Linearity has NOTHING to do with 'boring' or 'lively', 'warm' or 'cold'. A linear on axis FR response just tells you what sticks out and what is recessed in the overall scheme of things. I laugh out loud when some people tell me they hate a linear speaker because they sound boring. I wished I could give them a neutral pair of speaker with every alternate eq band pushed all the way up and down and tell them this is the most 'exciting' speaker on earth. That ought to teach them.

Hi Ron. I am the proud owner of the Q Acoustics Concept 500 and even though these are neutral speakers, they never sound boring because of it. I'm running them with a Willsenton R800i tube integrated amplifier and a Naim streaming DAC and what I believe is that as long as the dynamics and timing are reproduced faithfully, the sound will never be boring. In other words, a "boring" sound is not because of its frequency response, but has more to do with a speaker's ability to be able to reproduce faithfully in the area of dynamics and timing. These Perlisten R7Ts sound very good indeed, so I'll be very interested to see the frequency response and waterfall. On another subject, as much as I love speaker reviews, I'd be very interested to see a comparison (or single reviews) of the AudioZen Embrace hybrid and the Michi X3 integrated amplifiers.

This past February I auditioned (with my music) the S7T, and the R7T, at the Florida Audio show. I invested over an hour with both a tube amp, and a class AB solid state amp driving them. The S7T are more dynamic, and transparent than the R7T. My interest was to evaluate if they would match or out perform Paradigm Persona 5F with additional subs added (I've invested hours on separate visits to my local dealer auditioning the 5F). Both Perlisten speakers are far more dynamic, and impactful in the bass region than the Persona 5F. However the 5F are an intoxicating speaker in their clarity and transparency (Beryllium Tweeter & Midrange). I would say the Perlisten speakers are world class Home theater/hifi speakers, while the Persona 5F are World Class HIGH END hi-fi speakers. Unfortunately, I invested two hours auditioning Kharma dB-7S with MSB Technology Discrete dac doing it's magic. This set up truly BROKE my AUDIOPHILE brain.

I like the triple "tweeter" drivers - I am presuming they are similar to how Tekton works things - the center one is the only tweeter in the sense it goes all the way up to the highest frequencies. The upper and lower "tweeter" drivers are used only for the lower frequencies of their range, so they are kind of like midranges. And they provide the greater area of surface area required for the upper midrange. And maybe the same sort of thing is happening for the middle two woofer drivers - they may be covering the frequencies up to meet the tweeters, and the top and bottom woofers are only doing the lowest frequencies. @NewRecordDay What sort of SPL are you playing these at for this? Just curious.

Fidelity imports looks to have them at $2800/speaker. Don’t have an account to view their product page but when I search their site that’s the price they display

@@Tsxtasy1 is that dealer pricing maybe? 4k markup seems steep but I wouldn't be surprised. It's not like you're going to sell many of these

@@Tsxtasy1 you could always contact them. My initial reaction was thinking scam but after looking them up they seem like a distributor, not a dealer. I don't know where you saw the price listed but everywhere I search they are around $5k each... And as an importer, it's odd, because perlisten is in Wisconsin, usa and that importer is in new jersey? What are the importing from another usa based business? Edit: they are the US distributor. So if you can somehow make yourself a dealer, you can deal 2 pair immediately. One to you and one to me for that price . Lol. Yah that's the reality of dealer markup right there.

Let me breakdown these drivers per column: 4 textreme woofers are $320 each. The very very high end Scanspeak Ellipticor is $580 per unit. x3 = $1,800. So about $6,000 a pair. Yet their top model sell for $17k. DIY pays off ;)

The thing that your math doesn't include is the crossovers, the enclosure, and the time, tools, and materials to build it to a high level of quality. The R7t sells for about $10k per pair. For anyone that can afford to buy $6k worth of drivers alone, it's probably not worth their time to DIY a pair of speakers that won't approach the fit and finish of what you can already buy for $10k.

Hurry up, Ron, with that comparison! Only one other reviewer I know of punched both tickets, Mike Lavorgna over at Twittering Machines. But I have a feeling you're going to be more in depth, which of course takes time. So ignore this post and do your job. But quickly! I'm considering the R7T's for my relatively small room, but really there's not much size difference going up to the S7T's if I feel it's worth shaking out the additional moola. That's the question: is the S7T worth the additional moola? The world awaits your response!

Why does Randy sound like the stage is behind me today? Straight to the side, even behind, nothing from the front. Hm. Never noted that before on your stereo recordings. You like these better than the Spatial Audio Sapphires? Same price range...
