Super helpful thank you. I have been carving turns on steeps and go shooting across the hill. This looks like a great tool. Thanks!

Excellent video - top class coaching. Thank you. It's good to see good old leg/foot rotation / pivoting still lives! Too many instructors are obsessed with carving edges only. Looking forward to more.

Now I can tell my mom what to do when we loose visibility in the clouds. My eyes seem to be much better and I'm good at feeling the ski, damping out any bumps and reacting to unexpected changes in the snow, but she gets really scared which hurts her otherwise excellent carving technique. She slows down a lot, leans back too much and just doesn't have a good time fumbling her way down the slope. Who knew that Skiing very slow can be so much harder and exhausting. This however is slow, narrow, nice and controlled so she can follow me. Such good advice!

Thank you so much! These videos in the Technique Series are excellent! My instructor recently had me practice this, and your clear explanations and great camera work really bring the technique home.

The conditions I faced today where, steep hill, ungroomed, frozen on top, and with small moguls, how would you adapt this technique sir? BTW I love your videos. Super useful.

edging is what creates braking, once you pivot what stopps you from spinning around backwards?

Could you use a down-unweighted movement pattern instead of moving the hips down the fall line?
@TheSkiAcademy
@TheSkiAcademy 7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! There are plenty of ways to create the lateral movement that eventually ends with an edge change. This could come from a more pressured based approach or an unweighted movement.

Very impressed! - ski instruction which recognizes that 'there is more than one way to skin a cat' - too many instructors just push their favourite (or only!) method.
@ianyapxw
@ianyapxw 7 жыл бұрын
I don't know, it really depends what level instructor they are. I doubt anyone with an ISIA stamp will push only their favourite method...
