Kenyan protesters clash with police in nationwide riot

Protests gripped the Kenyan capital of Nairobi on Tuesday (July 2), as demonstrators expressing their outrage against proposed tax hikes, resorted to displays involving empty coffins calling for an end to the police's excessive use of force. These coffins were later removed by the police.
The demonstrations began as an online outcry against nearly $2.7 billion of tax increases outlined in a proposed finance bill, but have since evolved into a nationwide crusade against corruption and what Kenyans call poor governance.

Point 1 - Why would you steal from the business that are employing your fellow country men? Doing this, you have now taken thousands of jobs away from fellow country men and they can NO longer can support their families. People are unfortunately taking advantage of the current climate and are not thinking long term and who it affects. Point 2 - As well, One needs to start looking at the ramifications if some people are doing this only for increased traffic and monetization to their personal social media pages. Some reporters have mentioned hearing these conversations in the crowds. Very sad, if this is factual. Point 3 - watch out for instigators who are not really with your cause.

People should really understand what this bill means for Kenya. For how long we will live third world era n behind countries who come up n pass us as Kenya n Africa. Taxes are paid on every country with no minerals n gas to sustain the gvt, pay for public services n develop a nation. In Africa n Kenya we so used to cheat our ways corruption n never consider being responsible for everything we touch n do n complain when good things are meant for us. Tell me any country with no resource that doesn’t pay taxes. Outside here we pay per every km of road we use n any gvt services. We used to leaders who sugar coat for votes n terms n get applause while deep down in them they know the right thing to do. Some of us a complaining about tax n never have they ever done tax returns. Level up guys n stop living in ozone😊
