I'm just astonished you have so many characters around the same level. Every time I play I end up with 3-4 characters leaving the rest in the dust.

This entire time, I always just spammed the first ice level for early levels and then go to the third area's level 1 and 3. Then I find out I can just do this. You have just saved me a few years off my life.

One extra tip for this map in particular. You mentioned the Hosptial bills? Well, see, have you tried throwing the combined enemy onto your base panel? Once your characters are high enough level, I'm pretty sure there's a chance to capture said enemy and recruit them to your team via that... but, when your a lower level (I have yet to actually capture it with a group with a couple level 70s or so) it breaks the base panel, and kills everyone who hasn't deployed yet. The hospital will count healing those, and while it would be terrible on any other map to have the base panel destroyed, it's beneficial on this map, because it's the only blank square on the map, thus making the enemy vulnerable, killing a bunch of your group for the hospital bills, and you only need to have out the character your leveling and a support like Flonne to whittle them down and then get the xp.

Just grind Jotunheim Terrible Cold... then Grind, Stellar Graveyard Valgipus IV... Then Grind Cave of Ordeal 1... Cave of Ordeal 2... Cave of Ordeal 3... Go to the item world get a lot of Statisticians on your gear. 900 so that you level up 10 times faster, then get Armsmaster on your gear so that your characters can level up their weapon stats faster, you should get 1900 armsmaster for 20 times the speed. And of course Get a lot of Teacher, Gladiator and Marksman on your gear, Teacher for Staff, Gladiator for Everything else that isn't a Gun, Marksman for Bow and Gun. The main story is not really that hard to do. Item World is a lot harder than the main story, and of course, Alternate Netherworld and eventually fighting Baal and Prinny Baal is the goal.

When your party is strong enough you can throw the monsters on the terrible cold map into the base panel and captor them, why do this? well it adds captor power to your team so you can captor even higher level monsters on other maps until you have enough monsters with reasonable levels to captor a level 9999 Surt. The Surts can handle the fighting and it saves you from having to power level with winged slayer a million times. however you might want to if you want a max level thief.

its not that hard, tip n1, grab all the gifts from the hospital. to fuel the cost of the healing, sell the lower muscles and orbs, dont worry, you will only have to sell the very early ones, after a while you will have enough money to grab every thing. also, do it ONE AT A TIME, so you can get it as rare(silver). they will never come out legendary(gold), so dont bother. to change the rarity, just go to reward then cancel if its not rare. as a side note, try to take the last muscle with gladiators in it, as it will have a very high gladiator, better yet if it has multiples. its not mandatory but will REALLY help. after you get the top most muscles equip the 3 highest on laharl, and go to an item world, preferably a weapon(in this case a sword), go in, and rush to the 10th floor to defeat the boss. leave the dungeon, keep doing this with diferent weapons, as to acumulate gencys. finally, your laharl will be gaining a few levels, grab some hands, and try to steal a better sword with him, keep doing this, and soon he will be hiting the 100. now you can either rush the campaign, or keep doing this, using his mana to make a few characters(tip pupil a cleric under him and teach him both heal and espoir. both are amazing survival tools, that dont require that much int to use, and can save you on a pinch.

hurricane slash is the only way this level is possible to grind when your people are low levels.

Then go to the dark assembly to pass bill for stronger enemies.

I abused cave of ordeal. Basic attack laharal combo with his pupil. Also normal cave 3 gives 75,000 xp for level 1 clear sometimes propeling a charecter to 29 then 36 then 40 easily

oh thank you, I'm happy to have found this, I just started to creat randomly some monsters because I wasn't sure what would be actually good and....I'm not really sure when to do what. I started to understand the game but the challange here is more the grinding and the confused feeling. I mean I heard about what level I have to reach to unlock new classes and it got boring after doing a certain level 10 times. Maybe I'm just playing it to safe. I might have made a mistake, because in order to just unlock some characters, I was letting my prinies creating some characters because I didn't wanted to waste the mana points.

I got to tip my hat to you. I did not think of this, and I'm a very tactically minded.

Honestly, idk wtf to do at my point. I'm currently level 2005 on Laharl, and I have a common R37 sword (not upgraded yet, but I'll get to that soon) but idk if I should be farming gladiators, trying to put more effort towards finding a Cosmic Blade, or if I should be using SEBs to further grind levels. I just feel really inefficient, but maybe it's just because the game is way grindier than I was imagining.

y reincarnate characters what is the point then u will have them @ lvl 1 and have 2 grind them up again

okay I know i'm really late to the party but how can I level up before the first boss? I can't really have much choice with the grinding spots (only the castle) and i don't have much equipments, i gave my cleric a gun but she barely does any damage and i'm just barely going through the first levels with her doing 3damage per turn..

how you weren't taking any damage ? also by any chance you can make a how to get a lot of HL and beginners guide to item world (still hurt my brain)
