Back in the 70’s it virtually impossible to land on particular band because they were all great, we seriously had the best generation of musicians…great songwriters and storyteller. It’s great to see younger people finding these artists on KZfaq and experiencing real artistry 👍🏻🙋♀️😎

Boz has had a tough couple of years these last few, burned out in one of the Cali. fires (lost about everything in ‘18) and some later health care issues but remains a consummate professional with a unique style. There is no one over these past decades like Boz Scaggs. He’s still touring this year at 77 and still tearing up the house with his incredible voice, musicianship, with the cool, understated elegance of a true Bluesman. He deserves every accolade and professional recognition that hasn’t been bestowed on him-but we who love him and his music know better and appreciate all the joy he’s bought us hardcore fans. A shout out as well to the other members of his band, all of whom are stars in there own right including the fabulous Ms. Mone’t Owens and her “slap happy” colleague, the lovely Barbara Wilson. Thank you all for decades of beautiful memories current and past with more to come.

3:55 One of the best, catchiest, and most memorable bridges I've ever heard. That 30 seconds or so of synthesizer solo is one of the best things ever. And I love how the guitars introduce it, and contrast with it. Just brilliant!
@thomasluby17544 ай бұрын
Pretty sure that is from David Paich of Toto fame (he wrote 'Africa', 'Rosanna' and 'Hold the line') who helped write some of the songs on Silk Degrees. A Moog synthesizer is used on this song. Paich, Jeff Porcaro and David Hungate of Toto all played on this song.
@111Phoenix7774 ай бұрын
@@thomasluby1754 I didn't know that, but it doesn't surprise me! Thanks for the info. I've been a huge Toto fan for decades. Love all their work.

@@111Phoenix777 You're welcome. More fun facts related to Silk Degrees. Paich, Porcaro and Hungate played on most songs on the album. As stated above, Paich co-wrote some of the songs. Jeff Porcaro states on a video from 1986 that Scaggs paid him and other musicians who worked on that album $30,000 each (= to $160,000 today) as a bonus or "Thank you" for their hard work. Jeff says he used as a down payment to buy his house.
