i think majority of people expected another AM album, and that’s why this one didn’t get a lot of love. however, i don’t understand people that want ANOTHER AM... i enjoy artists changing their sound and styles, it keeps things fun/fresh. i really like Hotel&Casino because it’s so different from their previous work. it’s classy, smooth, and has a whole different feel to it. kind of sad that others can’t see it that way too, but you can’t please everyone. i think it would be cool if you checked out their other older albums tho !! they have some good ass songs before the AM album era

This album grows on you in a way you can’t explain, probably the best lyrics Alex Turner has ever came up with of you really listen to them and once you get used to the fact it’s not another AM, you can begin to realise it’s an absolute masterpiece

This band in particular seems to be divided into two sections Before Suck it See and after Suck it and See. No album by the Monkeys sound alike, each one is different almost crossing genres at some points, but when they released their 4th album Suck It And See alot of fans fell off. They went for a 50s greaser doowop sound. Then AM was a mix of that and hip hop. I cant speak for all bands, but this band is amazing in the way that every single album is different. Even their look changes with each album. But people still managed to divide the Monkeys.

"Why do people hate on good albums?" I was hype when I saw the title. I think a lot of arctic monkeys listeners didn't expect a piano themed album out of everything (including myself) but giving this more listens, it blew me away! Great video man! Finally!!! 😂

To respond to your rant, I think fans tend to enjoy only one type of sound. I personally love it when artists explore their sound. When artists make the same exact sound, even if that previous sound was a masterpiece, that sound will eventually become stale and boring imo. For this album, it isn’t exactly for my tastes, but I still strongly appreciate the risks they took on it. I absolutely love a good chunk of songs on this album, and since it’s my least favorite, that’s saying a lot for this band for me.

You should really try and react to their first record, "Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not" to try and give you an idea of how much the band has developed their sound

I've been a massive Arctic Monkeys fan since! 'Whatever people... ', but tranquility base is such a good album. I don't know why people want them to go back to debut album days. It's not gonna happen, embrace the new music, because it's genius.

When this album first got released, it got criticized, but it has aged well. It was an experimental album and it definitely deserves a second listen. It was a gutsy move by the Arctic Monkeys that I think will pay off with their catalogue in the end.

This album still fucking rules 2 years later and it’s probably their best. it’s just a lot of edgy stans that hate anything different. This album is such a synchronization of the anxiety of our times, 60s-70s culture, science fiction, and Alex turners fantastic lyricism. It’s amazing.

Hi, so I'm pretty late to the team lol. I like this album BECAUSE it's different. Alex Turner surprised me. And it took me a bit to get used to it, but one I did I saw its full excellence. In short. The album is amazing.

I loved this album at first listen. My best friend told me it took a few times for her to get into the groove, and shes obsessed with it now.

Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is the group's most adventurous studio album. This album ended up at the bottom of my ranking of their albums, but I still love the hell out of this record. I really discovered a deeper appreciation for TBH&C the more closely I listened. There's some excellent guitar work, and although it might not be as technical as it6s been in the past, Alex still finds a way to make simplicity work in their favor. Sure, there are a few songs that lack a memorable appeal in the lyrics or the music, but for a band's "weakest" album, it sure as hell isn't weak at all, and demands to be played often!

I've been lucky enough to see AM live on a multitude of occasions, I also think people don't like change, that's why TBH&C didn't get such a great reception, it's definitely not my favourite AM album but I love it, definitely isn't my taste at all but I love anything and everything that comes out of Alex Turner's mouth. I would definitely recommend listening his solo album 'Submarine' also his work in his other band 'The Last Shadow Puppets' some of their tunes are absolutely magnificent The thing about Arctic Monkeys is that they've got a very diversely discography, in 2006 when they released Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not' they had a very distinct sound, was very much so garage rock, where they wrote music about going out and getting drunk and fighting outside clubs, their 2nd album 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' is my favourite piece of work from the boys, it's got kind of the same feel to it but you can see that Alex progressed a lot as a song writer. Humbug is another amazing album, I'd say it's a close second for me, the desert vibe is amazing and I'm forever greatful for Josh Homme Suck it and see and AM were MUCH more mainstream and popy, I love them both, Love is lazerquest is one of my favourite songs from them. . It'd be amazing if you checked out more of their work, they're definitely my favourite since since the early 2000s

I was very excited for this album and when came ou I didn’t get it why everyone hate it so much, but the only one I didn’t liked was She looks like fun, the chorus was too repetitive and Cameron Avery’s voice singing “she looks like fun” didn’t match the rest of the song, but then I heard their performance at James Corden and its so much better and I even started listening the studio version. I really liked this review and I agree with everything you said. (Forgive me for any grammar mistakes, Brazilian here ✌🏼)

Honestly this is such a chill lounge music album and it all blends so well. I don't understand what was so wrong? I find people can't listen to albums as music instead of v2 of all their original stuff :/ This is probably a suggestion that would never happen, as no one knows him but "Godhunter" by Aviators recently released and it's pretty good if you want to check it out, keep up the great videos man, never a bore to watch!

Massive arctic monkeys fan, here’s my general thoughts on what you should listen too, if you want to venture through the discography any more! Firstly, listen to their debut. When you compare it to the other stuff you’ve listened too, I think you’ll genuinely be shocked! Now I know I’m going with the same opinion as many here, but genuinely that’s what you should do lol. Next is Favourite Worst Nightmare which I’d say is probably the most under the radar album possible. Everyone talks about the debut and all their songs, whereas I think this album has so many amazing tracks, every single one is a banger for me, yet very few get recognition! Then you have humbug, a lot of arctic monkeys fans that are “big fans” of them will say it’s their best album. I think it’s their most interesting, not necessarily best. I’d say it’s up their with all of them but I can’t really define a “best” album when I love all of them so much. The progression from album 2-3 is really incredible and you’ll see what I mean! They go a lot slower but darker. Album 4 is suck it and see, it’s great. I love it. It doesn’t get attention from the mainstream fans or the big fans who jerk off humbug to its own death, but suck it and see is just such a killer album! It’s very much like AM but with better vocals and more clean guitar! Album five is AM which is also a great album, but probably their weakest (as in, the centre of the album is definitely weaker than the rest, this dip doesn’t occur in the other albums). I love all the tracks, but it can become a bit much of the same. And finally you’ve listened to tranquility base now. Probably the biggest musical change I’ve heard myself, I think it’s inspired, a great decision. They had the chance to do AM 2.0 and literally completely destroyed what so many people wanted, and I love it! The more you listen to it the better it gets too, so keep listening! All the best! X

7:10 most of the fans came with AM not knowing that Arctic Monkeys sounded so much different to that, it was kind of a pop-ish album, so they were disappointed hearing this high concept album also, let’s not act like most of the new AM (the album) fans are only fans of Alex Turner for the looks, it’s almost Harry Styles and One Direction level of fandom.

i've been a big monkeys fan for over a decade (and i'm only 19 now haha) and i thought this was the best album of 2018 and their best album since humbug. if the masses hate on it you know its gonna be good, and the criteria for consistency is development and (for me anyway) complex lyricism and that's why this album is a classic and shows arctic monkeys are the by far the best band in the mainstream :D i'm so glad you can see how good it is and don't just go along with the preconceived idea that it's shit because 'people' think its shit
