Its hard to believe that this movie was made 70 years ago . Anthony Dexter even looks like Valentino . Amazing performance by both dancers . Thanks a lot for posting this video .

This Anthony Dexter nailed his Valentino impersonation to the tee! He wasn't as smooth or as graceful as the real Rudolpho Valentino! There's only one Valentino, but he did pretty damn good as an homage to the Original Dark Latin Lover!🖤💘💏💃 Bravo!😎👍👏✌

I must have watched this video a hundred times! The choreography is a masterpiece and the actor could not have been better, every movement, expression, look, everything is stunningly perfect.

Это запись 30 годов. Пахомова и Горшков уже в наше время, но они молодцы и талантливы были, хорошо танцевали, да ещё и на коньках.

What a breath taking dance! I was almost fainted just by watching them dancing this remarkable dance. Tango and 1951? What a wonderful performance ! Even today's professional dancers at international dance competitions will not dance tango like this. Tango and Argentina probably belong together as parents and children.

I have noticed people dancing the Tango in movies set in the 1920's and the partners look away from each other the entire time. The Argentinian Tango originating in less "hoity toity" locales is absolutely the most sensual dance I've ever seen and I understand that people dance it until they are old. Their moves may not be as athletic as Anthony and Patricia's performance but whose are?

@@joanschilleci7564 The ridiculous theatrical BDSM exercise in this movie has nothing to do with actual Tango. I mean, there was almost nothing in the movements of this stupid piece of exhibitionism that had any overlap whatever with the movement repertoire of actual Tango. Tango is primarily a social dance form noted for it's intimate, focused, and tender communication between the dancers, not some display of violent sexual ambivalence and mutual disdain. Tango is romantic and can be very passionate, but it is not the expression of what I call the War of the Sexes People-- the women who hate men and are attracted to the men who hate women. Hollywood tried to imagine Tango translated into that mode, and this ludicrous and crude extravaganza is the result. But as I said, its actual relationship to Tango is almost nil-- basically limited to nothing but the choice of the musical piece "La Cumparasita." Furthermore, Tango is not an outgrowth of rural Argentine gaucho culture, but an expression that evolved among the international working class of urban Buenas Aires.

I am a classic movie buff and love the movies of the 1930s - 1950s. I have a personally autographed picture of Anthony Dexter and it is of him as Rudolph Valentino dressed in this outfit from this scene. Thrilled to have his autograph in my collection. 😊

While watching Rudolph Valentino - silent version of the film - dance this tango, the movements are the same - tough and very attractive. Patricia Medina was beautiful. Both versions are great.

@@GFSLombardo Reports were that Valentino did not have a heavy Italian accent...Gloria Swanson said he had a lilt to his speech and was dubbed "continental." You can here him sing 2 songs recorded in 1923...on in Spanish the other in English. Here on YT. He did it almost on a lark and quipped "there goes my opera career." His voice was a nice baritone...

This has to be the most sensuous scene in any movie I have ever seen in my life! And I have seen quite a few. Anthony Dexter looks just like Valentino did and that tango is the way it is supposed to be danced. The sensuality in that dance is staggering. I don't know how many times I have seen this video today. I know I will see it over and over!

I agree, it is quite sensual. Another sensual scene I like is in the 1943 film 'The More the Merrier'. It is a kissing scene between Joel McCrea and Jean Arthur, towards the end of the film. Quite sexy and sensual.

The athletic exhibition in this dance was not a tango. If you think this was the way tango "is supposed to be danced" then you have never been around a tango lesson or social tango in your life. The movements in this dance had nothing whatever in common with the movement repertoire of tango. The basic character of movement in this stupid sado-masochistic spectacle had zero to do with tango whatever.

This was a time when we truly had talent in Hollywood, a time when women were beautiful and men were drop dead gorgeous and the talent was above approach. The dancing in this movie was outstanding.

Esse filme foi demais! Anthony Dexter interpretou Rodolfo Valentino perfeitamente. Até na beleza! Valentino foi um dos homens mais lindos e encantadores daquela época, seu talento inigualável para a dança. Mas mesmo sendo um homem tão admirado, ele sofria de um mal: O amor por Joan Carline. Um amor impossível! Que pena! Morreu apenas com 32 anos! Patrícia Medina fez uma linda apresentação!

I like that you can hear the fabric of her skirt whipping around in the faster moves they make. Very sharp performance. When they moved toward the camera together the scene from the "Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse" was nicely duplicated. Thanks for posting this.

I came again to watch this epic scene. Mann.. how high standard the movie in the past. I know this biopic movie isn't popular to old Hollywood fans.But the dancing scene so terrific, 💯 wonderful stunning. Comparing with movie nowadays such choreography of La La Land (mehh).

I was led to this channel from flamenco dancing to Alan Thornburg and Carmen to a Rudolph Valentino look alike and his partner who ask nothing of Valentino and Patricia Medina....amazing !! ..... awestruck with the comments of some very astute people, regarding all music, cinema and the dance.

@@jayyoung4534 Beatriz ciertamente esta contando sus sentimientos para Valentino con su rostro. Los pasos, aunque no se ven tan dramatico debido a la tecnologia de la epoca y la falta de flujo normal en moviento, son mas intricos y bailados con precision.

Ovde nema razlike izmedju originala i kopije. Ne zna se koji je lepsi i ko bolje igra. Mislim da ne postoji zena koja ne bi zelela da plese sa ovom dvojicom. I Valentino i Dexter su neponovljivi. Vrh!

Да ,действительно,Рудольф Валентино-это шедевр...😳😍100лет почти наверное этим кадрам,но..невозможно взгляд от него оторвать.Вроде бы и не скажешь,что суперкасавец,но чертовски привлекателен...Ему нет в своем роде равных,не зря по нему женщины с ума сходили.Интересно,из какого фильма отрывок,посмотреть бы целиком...🙄
