Rudolph Valentino (one of the first Hollywood stars) dancing tango here in the silent film of 1921, THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE. It is the first video filmed of anybody dancing tango (the tango was born in Buenos Aires around 1890). This scene is one of the most famous moments in the history of silent movies. Beatrice Domínguez (born in 1896 in California of Spanish parents) was the actress who dances here. In 1921, at the age of 24, and before the film was completed, Beatrice died from a ruptured appendix. Rudolph Valentino also died of a similar ailment, five years later, at the age of 31 years.

Who knows what music they were really dancing to, but the 3 tangos I inserted in this copy of the movie were all recorded by the orchestra of Francisco Canaro many years after the movie was produced and I obviously adjusted the speed of the movie in certain spots to match the dancing with the music. Enjoy!

Quién sabe qué música estaban realmente bailando, pero los 3 tangos que usé en esta copia de la película fueron grabados por la orquesta de Francisco Canaro muchos años después de que la película fuera producida y obviamente ajusté la velocidad de la película en ciertos puntos para que parezca que los bailarines estan siguiendo la música.
