"(You're My) Soul and Inspiration" is a song by American pop duo the Righteous Brothers. It was the group's first hit after leaving their long-time producer Phil Spector. The song was written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, who also wrote the group's first hit "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" along with Phil Spector. It is the title track of their album. The single peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and reached No. 15 on the UK Singles Chart. Billboard ranked the record as the No. 3 single for 1966.

I'm 64 and the two greatest singing duos I've ever heard are The Righteous Brothers as well as The Everly Brothers. We'll never see music of this caliber again because this level of talent simply no longer exists!

Yes, I believe his first name was Scott, had an incredible voice. Truly underrated. Probably due to the fact the Righteous Brothers overshadowed them at that time. The 60s were the greatest decade for me concerning music

Hey Tysheen, The Righteous Brothers are "The Truth" because they always deliver the goods!!! You may want to react next to their song titled: "I Just Want To Make Love To You," and you will see another side of the variety they bring to the musical table!!! These Brothers don't mess around, they know how to bring the HEAT & the FIRE!!!

If I could build a time machine I would go back to the mid 1960s when I was a teen and never come back and make sure I'd try and see them live at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Fresno, California or Convention Hall Asbury Park, New Jersey before I'd see Elvis who later covered You lost that Loving Feeling and Unchained Melody. He should have left perfection alone .

A huge fan of theirs since 64, totally agree with someone who left a comment their the best Duo ever. Actually Bill Medley (deep voice) is 82 and still performing tho with Bucky Heard. Sadly Bobby Hatfield passed in 2003., Bucky has to be very good to accompany Bill. I suggest you see them if they perform in yr city. It has to good

Great ones for sure, not real brothers but so what. Even the Walker Brothers weren't. If you would go on their routes, could be able to surprise you somewhat more. Songs like 'My Ship Is Coming In', 'The Sun Aint Gonna Shine Anymore', 'Walking In The Rain' or the phantastic 'No Regrets' and 'The Electrician', kinda avantgarde-style.

The difference between Elvis and The Righteous Brothers was that, while girls swooned over Elvis, the idol, they swooned even more over Righteous Brother's SONGS....Whether it was "You've lost that lovin' feeling", "Ebb Tide", "Unchained Melody" or "Soul & Inspiration", a Rightgeous Brothers song was always the last song played at the SockHop...So, again, for all those great, I mean really great, slow dances, I thank you, Bill and Bobby.

Ooh the 60s that created the most diverse music with the merging of so many Genres! I like Johnny Rivers hits "Poor side of town: Secret agent man, Baby I need your loving, Memphis, The way we live, Summer Rain, Look to your soul, By the time I get to Phoenix, Slow dancing swaying to the music," I listened to "The way we live" off the "Realization lp after the George Floyd incident! I like Folk music of the 60s as did Jimi Hendrix. "George girl" by The Seekers is great; "Elusive butterfly of love" by bobby Lind is awesome." Like a rolling stone, It ain't me babe, Mr Tamborine man, Just like a women, & All along the Watchtower" by Bob Dylan. Jimi Hendrix did covers of "Like a rolling stone & All along the watchtower" and Dylan considered them better than his Version. "So much in love" by The Thymes, "Times of your life" by Paul Anka, "Days of the future passed" Lp by The Moody blues, "Home to the sea" by The San Sebastian Strings Lp, My bro Gene loved "Passage home, Dragon flys & Another evening with the Gypsies." "Happy together" by The turtles, "Groovin" by The Rascals, "Memories, Suspicious minds, Separate ways, My baby left me & Trouble." by Elvis Presley. Check those out, I'll think of other Genres to add later! Stay Cool. Twyl
