Cliff Stoudt tossed a third-quarter touchdown pass and Ted Walton scored on a 46-yard interception return as the Birmingham Stallions downed New Jersey 14-6 and captured the Eastern Conference title.
The Birmingham victory snapped the Generals 13-game winning streak at home and the Stallions defense ended Herschel Walker's string of rushing for at least 100 yards at 11 straight games by limiting the star running back to 73 yards.
New Jersey finished the regular season at 11-7.
