Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse.🦊🤘🌐 Is nice to see reactors coming back to hear BM new songs. Just in case you missed it, there's a previous single called "Divine Attack - Shingeki", kindly take a look on that to get a clear picture of this new upcoming 4th album called "The Other One", and get ready for more coz a new single is coming this month along with a live performance and later they will join Sabaton's Europe Tour as a special guests, this year is gonna be awesome for BM fans. They're probably using the Norse mythology, Yggdrasil (the Tree Of Life) as the Aogiri tree, one of the survivor tree in Hiroshima, and the monochrome fireworks altogether along with more references as a metaphor, once you know where SuMetal was born it all makes sense. But instead of endorse negativity she's giving us hope that if a war or any other sad moment (like the recent pandemic) is happening nowadays, the colors will be back.☔☀️🌈 We all know so far that this time they're introducing us to their metalverse with 10 different worlds and songs, and we're gonna see the full picture once the full album is out, probably some more hints with the next singles coming and the live performance next January. OTFGK. Great reaction and Good Job the Fam Jay Crew with the recommendation.🤘🦊 BABYMETAL never put out a lyric video before, I'm thinking they really want us to know what they are singing so we can decide what the song means (as ever it is open to interpretation of course and we will all have our own thoughts, which is not a bad thing) ... and the visuals on lyric videos are never like they are on the official video, they mean something too. From my starting point of almost complete ignorance I have been learning so much from comments under other reactions about Ragnarok and the Norse mythology being referenced and the general consensus is there are also many references to the bombing of Hiroshima (Su-metal's home town) and Nagasaki, even if it is not specifically about those tragic events. The "monochrome firework" could be the bomb and the tree they used in the visuals throughout and that was finally shown in colour at the end could be the Hiroshima Peace Tree that survived the bombing as well as the tree of life from Norse mythology. As ever BABYMETAL do leave us with a feeling of hope and optimism and the message that no matter how long the night, the morning will still come. Colour will return to the world.

So this song actually has a pretty deep meaning.. Su, the lead singer, was born and raised in Hiroshima. This song is about a famous Hiroshima-born Japanese girl, who died at 12 years old, due to exposure to nuclear radiation when she was 2 years old. Sadako Sasaki is her name. The song has a quite a few references to the story, and it's beautiful. Personally for me, the key that shows me this song is about Hiroshima, is the end. The last remaining tree, while around it are thousands of trees who died (from the bomb) I believe there are still 4 trees left in Hiroshima today, that survived the explosion.

@@genebarker3624. Sorry, but PS. Their musicians are normally not the ones on their studio tracks. However, this is equivocally a live band! Frankly, they sound better live than in the studio and are the masters of performance. Call them Metal theater. They have two support bands for live shows, the Eastern (Japanese) Kami Band and a Western (American) group due to touring conflicts. The Eastern Kami drummer is Hideki Aoyama. He’s now probably in his early 40’s, or simply around 40 years old and the son of another famous Japanese drummer. The Western drummer is Anthony Barone from Shadow of Intent and others. He is known for his blast/gravity beat. I’d recommend Rondo of Nightmare with the Kami Band introduction. Enjoy

Nice reaction, thanks and welcome back! They are going way deeper lyrically on this one. The lyrics are written forming a huge allegory containing several metaphors about darkness or tough times: "Ragnarök" (the end of the world according the Norse mythology), the rain, the darkness itself or the lack or color (actual monochrome). And the visuals support that by depicting several nuclear blasts and its consequent post-apocalyptic scenario. The reference to the A-bomb is specially significative since Su-metal is from Hiroshima and granddaughter of survivors. But they wanted to end the song with a positive or optimistic view by showing the final tree in colors, probably "Yggdrasil" (again from the Norse mythology) or even one of the "Hibakujumoku" (literally a-bombed tree), the trees which survived the nuclear explosions. And also the last lines: "We will illuminate the world in rainbow colors. Just smile." And that's a very BABYMETAL touch! Until next time!

Thanks again from Japan 有難う 💛。 When I heard "Divine Attack" before "Monochrome", I thought "We (BM fans) all know this is just one of their various faces that we are going to witness from now on. Let's not be judgmental in haste." This second song has proved it, but in a more drastic way than I expected. Su's matured but pure voice resonates with the bones in my whole body like No Rain No Rainbow did. Yielding myself to the resonance, I am now pondering on what the implication of the lyric is. Many fans see some relation with nuclear disaster in Hiroshima. I perceive, however, something different. "Ragnarok" is known as "Twilight of the Gods". Then Su sings "No matter how long the night, the morning will arrive". I see more universal thing that BABYMETAL is praying for. ps. I have tickets to BM's two-day shows on coming Jan. 28/29. I can't wait 😍
