After 2 years they finally made some improvements!
The recent mobile port of the Definitive Edition by Netflix has brought some interesting changes.

These remasters have had one of the weirder journeys of all of gaming. I would never have thought in a million years that the mobile version would be the best version. That is absolutely insane to me.

Yeah usually, it's their own console (like how arkham knight or dead space is better on their own original consoles) or even pc releases/pc port But mobile of all places? One that is riddled with bad cashgrab games now, One that you can't even be sure if the specs of your phone could run it, and the One with games including ingame ads? Truly unbelievable (If this was told to my younger self, I would laugh at it... since I know for a fact the only genre that truly succeeded in mobile are MOBA and those short attention span games)

They can actually do competent remasters. Just don't expect them to remaster 3 full games in too little time... That's all on R* & T2 being stingy with money & development time, so they dropped an unfinished mess that probably went untested for the most part. Ark: Evolved on Nintendo Switch was actually done really well, bringing it from an unplayable mess to a playable game that also looks better.

The definitive edition was the most weird games out here; a broken mobile port that was transferred to unreal for pc and consoles being more broken, ported again to mobile and surprisingly fixed (almost)

Well, the mobile version would've been very good but grove Street studios worked on both of them remember. They are the real shit. But Netflix edition was developed by another studio so, it is very good.

@@trevorwalsh9443 Netflix actually isn't making games. They hire other studious to make games for them. Or other developers or Studios usually collaborates with Netflix to release their PC or Console Titles in Mobile. That's actually more like an exclusive service PlayStation provides. That the mobile exclusive version needs a subscription to be played on Mobile, exclusively. Otherwise, just buy the original game from Rockstar (mobile version) for 1000rs (I'm from India) each.

The first mobile version was fine, really playable, there was some bugs obviously, but it was rather a port from the original game more than anything else, so there was not a lot of new bugs that did not appear on pc when playing 60 fps.

@@ignaciovargas7921 It definitely looked kinda weird, but yes, those who never played the og version or someone who needed to enjoy the game just, they could do it without any problem. And other than that, VC and GTA 3 mobile versions were also great and enjoyable. I will say the definitive edition mobile is also good for a mobile game. Gta 3 and VC Netflix looks pretty good, SA is a bit messed up with the classic lighting, but still the game is pretty good.

A lot of people don't realise how much of a bitch it is to try and continue someone elses work in game dev, so can understand why a lot of issues still remain, and why theres a lot of bandaid fixes. Having to pick up the mess of an incompetent game studio, who threw the game into UE expecting it to work magically out the box, sounds very painful.

⁠@@HatDog692rockstar is not going to get codemaster or feral… You also have to remember San Andreas was not the mobile port but the ps3 and Xbox 360 version of the game ported to mobile… vice city and gta 3 were also ported to San Andreas to enhance things and that is why the mobile version was always broken … this isn’t the first rockstar and groove street games broke San Andreas or vice city and gta 3…

Once GTA 6 final- Ah wait, we can't use that anymore since GTA6 is releasing about a year from now... but let's be real... that's probably gonna be 20-30 years from now. Ain't no way Rockstar will remade it on their own, but I atleast hope they would outsource it to actually decent ones (like they did here on the mobile one, Video Game Deluxe)

I still say the Definitive Edition should've still been reworked from the ground up. Most of the issues of DE exist on a fundamental level, and the fixes that was done here in the Mobile ports were more like slapping a new coat of paint on a wrecked car. Classic Lighting being an option in the Settings rather than being an in-engine overhaul is a great example of this. I don't blame the new devs since they're working on a build previously done by other devs, but this is why I say a complete rework is needed. Realistically this probably won't happen in the foreseeable future, and this is the best that we'll get. And even if they did, I still won't get it or do anything with it as DE is still a sore point for me as a modder.

emulating the ps2 version is still the superior way to experience these games. If you ask me, the port isn't going to be fixed. and as long as there isn't a proper port, why even bother waiting and hoping for one?

I think this is the best we’re going to get officially, now the mobile ports are out there’s nothing stopping R* from abandoning this now. Hopefully they release a patch for the other platforms before they do that though.

In the case you wonders about Cj's bones(body), Groove Street games tried to make their own bones and fucked up everything, but this new company actually took the old bones from the game and put it there, this fixed the god damn bones

These games should be 300fps and 0 issues on all consoles , including last gen and Switch. They are freaking Ps2 era games. The Nintendo Switch got a flawless port of Dying Light and Skyrim while it also got a rough around the edges port of The Witcher 3 with all dlc. Oh but these games are too much ? Lol. There's even a performance or fidelity option even on Ps5 and Series X. Absolutely mind boggling. I can understand that for something like Cyberpunk 2077, but for a re-skinned Gta 3, Vice City, and San Andreas ? I can't as it hurts my head. They Absolutely butchered this collection

The entire story behind this remaster is so dumb by this point. People are waiting to get minor updates by years, while Rockstar needs to keep paying for someone to keep finishing these remaster, bit by bit. By that point just return everyone their money, say sorry, and return the original versions, and put this behind you.

I think that it was copied from mobile version of the aniversary and pasted again in the unreal engine.(same grapics are visible with aniversary and defenative mobile) but on defenative mobile has improved grapics.

Gta san andreas is a classic but when i found it has many cut content that can prolong the fun in 2004. It has rpg elements You can rob banks, upgrade your crib, customize your gang etc,But the devs have a deadline. Still a good game but cannot play without mods because you can't play this in its vanilla form anymore😅

Waiting PATIENTLY for these fixes on VC for the PC so the world can have the VC it deserves. I will still play the original any day and when the definitive finally captures the experience of the original, with the amazing graphics the original was not able to have, I will splurge for it. Knowing the history of San Andreas ports all being primarily derived from the botched Mobile-360 port, it's very ironic to know the mobile port of "Definitive Edition" is significantly less screwed up than the current gen PC/Console versions.

6:20 Actually the patriot's original color was always red, the thing is the Patriot and the Barracks are two of few vehicles in the game that aren't colorable as they have a permanent desert texture color over them, it looks like in the DE they did away with the permanent textures.

I still think steam version with community patches & story mode 2.0 w/ SkyGFX will be better than any “definition” edition. & I own both version of trilogy. Not to mention, hackers originally ported it with Unreal before Grove St studios. & it was looking more promising then what we got. Bethesda & Rockstar are too money hungry -.-

They should’ve used the Ps2 or Xbox version as base for a remaster but GSG used their already broken mobile ports that they already removed a lot of features for it to play on older phones guessing back in 2014. Not only the new devs have to figure out what gsg removed/disabled/ broken in DE they have to figure out what they did in the original mobile ports so doubt they’ll make it like the original ps2/Xbox era because it’s an “remastered” of the mobile ports

So this port was done by Video Games Deluxe, the guys that did the VR version of LA Noire and the ones that seemed to be developing the VR port of GTA SA. I may be inhaling a lot of copium but I believe that these fixes are the same that they must be developing for the VR version. Which means that the VR port seems to be in good hands at least, but we may still have to wait another couple of years for it :(

Many glitches on mobile hope they fixed it on the next update For example in vehicles Trailer Trucks ( hollow wheel part) Yosemite pick up ( hollow wheel part) QBF injection( hollow left side of the wheel suspension ) Hoping that rockstar will apply modern vehicle car updates like in GTA 5 The graphics are good hoping they put Character changer like in GTA 5

Lets hope they fixed everything on Console and PC. Except the graphics, particles, roads, and vehicles sound effects could fix at all GTA games. Camper and Sentinel from 6th gear sound will be fix because the sound of Freeway motorcycle chopper and Linerunner semi truck because of the sound glitch. This will show Grove Street Games couldn't fixed everything on Console and PC.

The thing is, they only patched the game when they're selling it for 60$ again. They didn't patch the PC version (which I bought btw) , they didn't even offer a free mobile version to PC and console users, which they should've as they took money from us for these games. Not everyone has a recurring Netflix subscription, and I'm definately not paying again for the games I already bought. This is just pure corporate greed.

Grove Street girls in the center of the pic are actually 🔥 but yeah the studio fell WAY short of delivering and the quote someone else posted just proves how badly Stewie Griffin needs to eliminate them from existence. This is GTA, and VC on top of that. “Sort of ok” is like being ok with a Walmart theme park instead of Disney.

Red Dead 2 is the only good thing that came from Rockstar in the last decade. They really don’t seem to give a fuck about anything except GTA Online at this point

Great improvements but we should compare these editions for example to the Mafia 1 Definitive edition. They really should continue with these definitive editions.
