Ive mastered the bow cast! To date, I have hooked 3 record book sized pines and uncountable numbers of willows! I live on a blue ribbon trout stream. Recently the lot above me was purchased by a guy that removed overhanging willows that held some of the biggest fish along that stretch of water to improve his view of the creek. Sad to lose the hidey hole, but on the bright side, one less place to lose flies. Fish on brother

Ugh - that sucks to hear that someone removed those trees! Obviously - not a fisherman with an understanding of the ramifications...I would be curious if removing something like that so close to the creek would be legal?

@@FlyFishDan definitely legal as it is private property. He is very knowledgeable about habitat. Of interest is that the willows removed were between 5 to 10 yards from water just 10 years ago. Erosion has eaten away that much of the land along that stretch. I failed to mention that the removal also was to legally install materials to prevent further loss of land to erosion. Complex issues no doubt

The group I was with just finished our 4 day float this past Friday. We hit a great little weather window and the bugs were out. Pretty good fishing for us.
