"Ayds" candies, was made by the Campanna company in Batavia, IL. I grew up two towns north and we'd drive by the factory all the time when I was a kid. We all knew it as the "Ayds" building. This was BEFORE AIDS was even a thing. The outbreak of AIDS is what actually killed the product. It was actually pretty popular, until the mid-80's. It now houses several smaller businesses, one of which used to be a costume warehouse for local community and school theatre productions. (I only know this because I worked for that business years ago.)
