Coney reacts to the video "How Melee's Biggest Cheater Was Caught" by Lil Homie, which is about how a Pichu player was able to exploit Super Smash Bros. Melee by using a nefarious trick in order to gain a huge advantage over other players by picking the right character, color scheme, and controller port.

It's surprising how long the Pichu player got away with doing what they did before getting caught. Would been suspicious that they were doing so well and only so well on their own console and no one elses.

I mean you need to consider that rhis was the first time a player got caught doing this. It was entirely possible but its the same thing as not locking your door and thinking "yeah no one will ever enter my house unprompted" they had a rule against it but no one expected this to ever happen

His locals was likely filled with doc kids. My locals top player had a legit Pichu. This guy only cheated because nobody knew or even picked up a low tier alt.

The difference between the Professor Pro Fox clip and Pichu is that everybody and their mom knows Fox. They know all his data. So in a Fox v Fox it's easier to see when something is up because Fox v Fox has been played forever. Who the fuck knows anything about Pichu? He's a shit tier character that nobody plays so you don't learn anything about him, both actively or passively. It's still crazy how confident Prof Pro was but it's more understandable to have that info known.

@@anthonyrodriguez9232I know I'm super late, but fox's shine should've sent him into tuble or basically semi spike him, because its an attack with fized knockback it always does the same, but in that clip, shine didn't put fox into tumble, which means the knockback value was lower (eg. 0.9 instead of 1.0)

What's funny is that the rogue like platform fighter Coney was saying actually exists as a 2D fighting game called 52Beatup which is the same concept but both players choose between three random buffs/nerfs with the loser of the round choosing first and it's first to 5 round wins

As to the professor pro clip: Fox's shine ALWAYS knocks down in the ditto. And given that it is the most common matchup and shine is a very common move, every fox player should know somethings not right.

I feel like the smart thing to do would be to find a way to mod a gamecube controller to infect the hosts copy of melee with the cheats, that similarly could only be accessed through a specific port, skin, and button combo. That way all you would have to do is keep the controller in your bag, and if they check the SD card of the person's switch and see the mods, you can just point out that its not your wii or SD card and deflect blame. Who knows if its possible but it would be funny

on top 100 thing, I think it's like every year the skill gaps get bigger, and people want to have some sort of trophy or moniker, so they put top 100 on a bigger and bigger pedestal for the feeling. We might see a top 500 at some point for that reason.
