I really love the idea of the "where are they now" series

ALRIGHT... SO! I am "HEE", the player from the VOD review. I gotta say I was not expecting to see this video because I thought the replay was gone after the mid-season patch. But when I saw the title, that sounded very familiar! There are so many moments - from CD management to positioning on that defense - and I am grateful for them! Did not even realise that my shield management on Rein was not that optimal, though I am not sure if the outcome would be any different at the start of the game. I mostly play Rein, Sigma and Winston, though I don't pick Winston too often because I am not sure I can make him work. Thanks for the compliments on the Winston gameplay tho! I gave up the space on the defence because I thought I could help my teammates with Doomfist, but I clearly couldn't. Next time on Eichenwalde I will try to position at another angle and see what happens (tho the comps will vary, surely). Currently I am Diamond 3, though I thought I would drop lower because I lost many games after that VOD review game. I have this tendency to keep queueing on a lose streak, while it is probably better to play another role or take a break from the game. Thanks for all the tips and the compliments, Emongg! Where are they now, but don't let them tell you what rank they are currently. So that way it's not only seeing if they have improved on what you said, but also guess based on the VOD if they ranked up, ranked down or stayed the same rank.

This level seems like the most fun to me. Good knowledge of the basics (mechanics, abilities, cover etc), but still some clear points of improvement

If he takes notes of how dia players play and why he gets punished he might be able to hold his own in plat until he starts improving again

Gonna edit with some things i think (as a humble diamond player, so take my opinion w a grain of salt) - First of all, I'd say to stop underestimating yourself. Dont psyche yourself out by saying "Im at this super high rank oh god what am i gonna do", treat it as just another game and try to not make mistakes.I really think this is the number one barrier you have, because instead of focusing on specific mistakes and improvements, you just say "gosh im so bad". You're actually really good, but obviously not perfect and thats okay cuz nobody is! - Mystery heroes!! Im a support main so i know its different, but typically i will only swap between ana kiriko and mercy unless im swapping to counter something very specific. Narrowing your hero pool means you concentrate your improvement and do better on those characters vs jack of all trades. If you're good on monkey, i'd do zarya for when they go reaper zen etc. - I had an issue where i basically could only win as ana, i got to diamond playing ana on 80% winrate just focusing on my aim and using cover. If i played another support i almost always lost. I realized i wasnt translating my skills on ana to other supports, i was playing with the same muscle memory i had before rather than the new one i built on ana. Try to think as if you're playing winston when you play other tanks and translate those winston skills to sigma/rein/whomever I recommend watching some spilo videos! His positioning guides helped me SOOOO MUCH

This doesn’t look like a totally outclassed player to me. Pretty funny that when we finally get someone who thinks they’re OVERranked, they’re not.

I love the where are they now idea. I'm also interested in a live coaching series so you can show how your suggestions change things. It would probably be more difficult to make though.

Players in this game are plat-diamond BUT noone take a counter to doomfist except sigma, the switch to cassidy was very late, no ana, no brigitte, no junk, no mei, no sombra ; they know they will have to fight doomfist for 20 more minute and not swapping, he is the only enemy hero to come 1vs5 and kill at least 1 or 2 people before retreat and nobody care ; if they just get another hard cc to doomfist , this game may have ended during first defense. I can understand why in my bronze to gold games, people refuse to switch because they don't know what to do but plz in plat, this doomfist just roll his head on his keyboard and win the game with no effort.

i genuinely think this guy's biggest problem is confidence. he doesn't think he should be diamond so he's second guessing every decision (except on winston) and hesitating when he needs to take action. but he is DEFINITELY a diamond player, so cheers buddy; you got this!

His mechanics and aim are pretty good, but he needs improvement on the bubble usage and just managing/identifying cooldowns.

They focused a bit to much on the DF when they were on Sigma, they had a lot of oppertunities to pressure the supports out of healing the DF

I kinda also feel that since I got to diamond (Im master 4 now). Now I feel a weird limbo where masters feel like hell and diamond feels easy. When I rank down to diamond afters some loosing streak, almost all games are a breeze and everything feels easier, but on masters, I feel like everyone plays much better and I have a hard time. I don’t know if I even belong to master but oh well, rank reset is just there now

I feel like if they just gave Ana a movement ability and removed sleep the tank experience would be decent

ngl i think the ranks are sorta broken i had went [5/W 9/L on support, and got diamond 5] then i went [5/W 14/L on dps and got diamond 4] (i shouldn't be diamond on dps, i think im around mid plat on dps (defo feel like im atleast like a plat 1/diamond 5 support, rn testing how it goes on tank, gonna try and get a bunch of losses and then rank up and see what rank i get)
