Rock Lee is MUCH more than just "Talent beats hard work", in this video I'll go into (most of) what Rock Lee taught me, a fellow "Natural Failure".
Rock Lee vs Gaara is, in my opinion, the best fight in anime. But it's not the fight itself that makes it so great, it's Rock Lee's backstory.
Rock Lee has just 3 episodes in Naruto where he actually does something (besides arguably his fight vs Kimimaro, but I don't think that fight really does him justice), yet out of the hundreds of Naruto episodes, Lee dropping his weights is one of the most iconic, memorable scenes in the entire series, arguably in all of anime. Closely followed by him standing unconcious at the end of the fight.
This video took a LONG time to make, I hope you're all as happy with it as I am!

My favourite quote is from hajime no ippo: "Not everyone who works hard is rewarded. But! All those who succeed have worked hard." Also, can you do something on hajime no ippo, if you can. Thanks for the content. :)

One major gift Rock Lee has is not having the burden of choice. People without choice doesn't have the pressure or urge to look for something better. They can just dedicate all their effort to the thing they are doing. In our current society where we're made to believe we can be anything, there's a constant pressure bearing down on everyone for being not what they're supposed to be. Unless someone is a master of discipline like Marcus or Musashi, having infinite possibilities can also be interpreted as having infinite ways to be a failure. Rock Lee having the clear determination to be a ninja and a firm understanding that he can only do it through pure martial arts give him the sweet sweet belief system where success is simply a matter of working and the only failure is not putting in the work. So, yeah, if we can just look past all the things we are "failing" at, and like this vid says: just do what we set out to do, we'll be great at something.

After a lifetime of failing to do what I said I would, the past few months have been different and I've had a much higher success rate simply by believing I can achieve what I set out to do. I realised believing otherwise is just not helpful and even destructive so I really resonated with this video. I even got goosebumps in the middle of the video! Who doesn't love Rock Lee too, let's be honest haha Great job, the work you put into these videos really is outstanding and I love how you keep it concise too! Not a word wasted and all very true and impactful. Thank you Sensei for these lessons.

I jumped for joy ngl. Absolutely amazing video. I've noticed that i always felt i couldn't do my 4th A-Level (German) because I'm not good enough without realising that I can and the only reason it seems like I can't is because I don't believe in myself. When you believe you can do something it becomes so much easier to just sit down and do it and you captured that thought really well and really concisely in this video. THANK YOU!!!

My favorite Anime characters are Lee, Vash and Vegeta. Each one of them persist in their own way. Even when the world around them says no. That's are hard place to be. It's lonely there sometimes. And often people won't come around until they see the results, funny enough that's usually when you no longer need their support.

It kind of says a lot about high achievements when authors write their "everyman" talentless characters to actually have a talent - usopp has snipery, isagi has adaptability and rock lee has hard work(ingness?) Recently I strugle with my volleyball career and reflected a lot and the lessons from anime about talentless characters because I relate to them. I definitely can always prioritize learning and change. I definitely can work hard. But just like in haikyuu, Atsumu loves volleyball just a little bit more than Osamu; I struggle to have a level of passion I know I should have. A question I'm constantly asking is "how do you want something more?". So that never again will I have to live a mediocre life, knowing my love is in that sport... still looking for the answer

I think a small aspect of your wish to understand how one could make their love towards something grow, is taking your time establishing meaning and dreams that you want to reach with it, a little drive to push you on.

There's something i want to share with you guys. I've been a MASSIVE Martial Arts fan all my life. But because of my weight problems I've never been able to get into it. Last year though i went to this new doctor and trust me when i say that I've been to a LOT of doctors growing up. I'm 46 years old now. This new doctor i now go to. Found out that i had VERY low testosterone levels. So she put me on some testosterone meds & ever since i now have a lot of energy to start loosing weight. ! When i started to loose weight i was 475 lbs. ! Well now I'm down to get this 290 lbs. !!! I'm doing this for my dream to become a Martial Artist & I WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN. !!!

Even though being popular and being elite are mutually exclusive, a good amount of people mistake them for being one and the same. In today's society, it's possible for well-known people to be recognised as elitists via means of manipulation. When you dispel what it really means to be well-known and elite respectively, you start to recognise that the value of a lot of things in today's society aren't cut out to be what it's actually worth. The irony is that you need to attain the ability to recognise things for what they are, and not group things together based on characteristics without any line of thought whatsoever as that leads to confirmation bias. Politics mostly makes it all a battle of proposition against propagation.

@LessonsFromAnime

@@lukivan8haha, yeah I guess so. Honestly I think it was the run of videos I made on "other animes", they took WAY longer to make (i remember this rock lee one was the longest to make by far, it took almost 4 weeks, although that was in part due to some perfectionism which ive turned down a lot since) as I had to rewatch parts + took longer to find relevant clips, and ended up getting almost no views. I'm focusing a lot more on just 1/2 anime as a result and its working much better. Still, I didn't really feel disappointed, the channels still done really well and I was honestly very happy with the sub count at the end of the year.
