My Uncle was a vet for 30 yrs. He said even though the seeds are NOT on the toxic list you still SHOULD NOT feed them to Tuck. Also a VERY SMALL amount of Paw Paw can be given to Tuck, BUT not to give him large amounts because it can lead to vomiting and diarrhea in dogs, with Tuck being so Tiny this could be very dangerous to him. 💖💓💞💕💟💝🐕🐕🐕 Love little Tuck, and ABSOLUTELY love all your videos and teaching skills. Thank you for sharing.

When I was little, we used to have a number of tropical fruit trees💖 like custard apple, water Apple, jackfruit, lichis, Mango, euphoria longan, coconut.. but due to some property issues we had to cut down all those trees, but now I'm starting to grow some fruit trees one by one. And this channel encourages me big time.. thanks James💖

Interesting. As an Australian, what we call "paw paw" is otherwise known as a papaya. I was a little perplexed that you were calling this fruit a paw paw. Searched an Australia-based fruit tree supplier's website and it seems that this is what we would call a "(North) American paw paw". I've never heard of or seen such a fruit so thank you for this awesome video.

That's funny! Almost exactly the day you posted this, I planted my first pawpaw tree, given by a neighbor when I moved to our new house in Summer of 2019. I have planted another dozen by now, because I finally have the big piece of land for my own fruit forest. I decided to check and see what luck people have had with them with better established trees. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I was born and raised in rural South East Indiana. We had a Paw Paw tree in our backyard, never got fruit and it eventually died. Never got the chance to try one, however we had four seedless persimmon trees, yum pass them out to anybody will take them after we froze the pulp. Those root vegetables at tuck eats probably help clean his teeth. Thanks for sharing your knowledge again!

I have read up quite a bit on giving dogs fruit and mostly from what I have read it seems the seeds are the problem. I always take out the seeds of all the fruit I give my dogs but fruit is a treat. I never give them anything without researching if it's ok which I suggest other dog owners do before giving their dogs anything new.

My property here at the western edge of New York State has the largest stand of wild pawpaws in the state. Mine average six to eight inches in size, and have a distinctive caramel-chocolate flavor (I sell most of them to a company that makes them into ice cream). Question: Why don't you eat the skin? It's thin and as tasty as the skin on a pear; also, it's also where most of the nutrients and medicinal properties are located. Try it, and leave your spoon in the kitchen!

@@jimmyd2180 the only ways i could find are to either find a wild paw paw tree and get the seeds from the fruit or buy the seeds or some lowes and home depots sell young paw paw trees

You....yeah YOU, James..... are the reason I planted a garden this year. I planted my garden 3rd week in April. Y’day I picked 4 Walmart grocery bags of lettuce! I live in the Tarheel state and gardens are easy to plant early. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!

I did more research and I found one of these in a creek! The fruit was floating and all mushy and only had two seeds but I brought them home and have tried to germinate them for over a month now. The inside looks like that cereal mini wheats. It’s like strips of white full inside. I just read they need to over winter so I hope I haven’ t ruined them trying to grow them this whole time!

Very informative! Thanks for posting. My husband was fishing when he found a paw paw tree with several saplings, He transplanted some of them (responsibly I promise). now we have 3. I so hope they'll be productive. I may have to get a 4th from a different source.

There are a few paw paw groves near me and it seams that My bro and I are the only ones that know what they are. You’re so lucky to have a neighbor with paw paws. Btw I have given my dogs bits of paw paw and they love it.

@@cpnotill9264 In NYS they were only native to the area near Lake Erie, the Niagara River, and western Lake Ontario: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asimina_triloba#/media/File:Asimina_triloba_range_map_1.png They are easy to find online. They like shade when they're young. Seedlings are more hardy than grafted varieties. The seeds need to be exposed to cold to sprout(stratification). They sprout late(July-Oct). They should do fine in zone 5b. Mine had no freeze damage at all after -13 degrees F.

Love how enthusiastic you appear starting off every video which show you enjoy what you do. Sorry to admit that I enjoy gardening just as much as you do and I check on my plants first before checking on the kids whenever I get home from work. Lmao 5 thumbs up to you and your channel. Wish you lived in Cali so I have a buddy that shares the same interest. Peace✌2 U and yours.

Paw paw is one of the few fruits that contain complete protein, another plus. I get hundreds of fruits every September from only two trees, because I hand pollinate them. I investigated whether they can be dehydrated, and the answer is no. Eating dehydrated paw paws can cause severe gastrointestinal distress.
