Regarding why some people might be against it, you might want to take another look at it. I haven’t read much about this myself, but the source I read mentioned some people being unhappy with the fact that YT will be removing some of the content automatically, while other content will have to be manually reported if a person wants their likeness removed. I don’t know the details, but if you’re going to say “I don’t know why anyone would have a problem with this” - this is a reason why.
