The reason why Konami decided to hit all the floodgates was because Master Duel forced all the employees to play against Runic Stun, the Konami employees did some self reflecting and realized: "Yeah, this shit isn't fun."

Snatch Steal gave me a boomer heart attack as well, but unlike Change of Heart and Talents, it isn't searchable by Thrust. I would be surprised if anyone plays it unless there are creative ways of searching it out. EDIT: I guess if you're really desperate you could Thrust for Hidden Armory. That'd be pretty funny.

@@MrSonicHedgehog obliterate = Exodia deck That was like couple months ago on YCS Indianapolis, Jeff’s deck had isolde in it likely for consistency. His opponent justin, was running Tear. It’s more likely that the ban was probably to cut down on the Link 2 problem cards like Halq, Anaconda and more, which includes isolde.

Keeping the monster with snatch steal doesn't matter because if you're running snatch steal you're probably aiming to end the game as soon as possible, similar to how change of heart is used to break boards and OTK. And speaking of, i think change of heart is better because it can be searched by thrust, talents also exists so i don't think snatch steal is gonna be as relevant as people think.

It’s definitely a niche option for decks that don’t run many generic links - though with SP in the format that’s a much smaller list. I remember triple tac’s steal effect being frustrating to use in Swordsoul, since you could find yourself missing lethal due to an unknown handtrap or something and having to give the monster back.

They always wait at least 3 months after a reprint even when people are demanding something be done like with Verte and Halq. And considering I haven't seen anyone complain about it in any serious matter I highly doubt they would at all let alone anytime in the next 6+ months after a set that has been selling as well as this one.

Agreed, I was worried about that. This banlist not only leaving Prosperity untouched but unlimiting Desires makes me think that they don't see pots as much of a thing to worry about for now, and honestly I don't think they are.

Having so many Change of Heart type cards legal is very interesting especifically because of the often forgotten secondary Summoning condition of The Zombie Vampire. It can use 2 monsters of any level as long as they are opponent monsters you stealed. That doesn't happen often outside of Zombie Deck, but it may open the possibilitu of Blind Second Tear or boost 8 Axis

@@gizmeksandsushi2304 Stealing 2 monsters, make Sheridan, send a monster to GY and then Summon it back to your field as half of a Zombie Vampire before even Normal Summoning does sound pretty neat. Vampires do have a lot of tools that become better going second, but always have been held back by how bad they play into interruptions and how they need at least 2/3 names to play the game

Snatch Steal is mid as hell because it’s strictly a going second card and also just a board breaker. The things you’d use to search/recycle Snatch Steal would just be negated before you even get to Snatch Steal. No one is going to attempt to stick a Power Tool Dragon into an opponent’s board or Hidden Armory for it

Yeah but maybe is just me but I see snach steal more as an offesive tool to keep a monster from the oponente as yours, but a typhoon like effect and its over so is not really THAT bad, chance of heart and mind control on the other side is more defensive allowing you to remove a threarh for just 1 turn and let you make your play

One of the best banlist I have seen. Side decks and going 2nd will change. Upstart Goblin is something to consider if you are not running Pot of Prosperity. Orcust and dragon rulers still need more help. The hits to the link monsters is very good long term.

Wow, it's been awhile since we've had such a rollercoaster of a banlist. Seeing Akido and Kelbek go before I could finish tinkering with them in Infernoid is really frustrating because they felt very overlooked for how little deck space they'd take up. Air Lifter limited absolutely kills Generaider Rescue-Ace, which I'm very sad to see go, especially with how few Rescue-Ace cards you actually play in said deck. Just bad luck that one of the 2 most important ones was the one that got hit. On the flipside, having Ib back is so hype. The ability to search the large variety of World Legacy cards without having to dump and clog up your extra monster zone with Girsu and Lib is going to be super helpful for my Weather Painter and Melodious decks. Really excited for Speedroid Terrotop so xyz Scareclaw can have the best extender they could ask for, so they don't have to clogg the deck with suboptimal ones.

With how Purrely is designed to be kinda reliant on My Friend for a Main Phase Memory search, I think hitting any memory to 2 is really good. A small hit to consistency and power at the same time since you can’t guarantee the extra Sleepy anymore

I've been playing Orcust Bystial in MD for a while now and while it sure as hell Orcust isn't what it used to be, untargeting send to GY is still pretty great, and there is synergy too since they both deal with banishing and recycling and the Bystials are all dark other than Lubelion, so it can be a pretty good deck sometimes (and sometimes you'll just draw all dark Bystials and no draw cards against a Floo player cuz this is Yugioh after all lol)

The problem with Upstart (which people pointed out when i tried to argue PoG could come back to 1) is that Droll exists. 3 Upstart honestly is fine. The threat of Droll, the other alternatives that exist such as Prosp or Desires, and the lack of a +1 will keep the card from going out of control in every deck. Its nice though for people like me who do want that consistency in decks that can't afford to dump monsters from the extra deck. Decks like Monarch and Dragunity (and similarly Dragon Link) come to mind for starters.

Power creep from effect monsters pushing all the spells out in the open from the banlist is a good thing. If these cards coming can brings back Monster/Spell/Trap trio again, I'm all for it.

I think the reasoning behind Snatch Steal coming back is that because it's an equip spell, it can pretty easily be dealt with with any form of removal. It's not exactly easy to keep an equip around for the most part, as there's just so many ways to get rid of them.

Overall I think this is a bloody good list, I agree with releasing cards that have been banned or limited for close to a decade now, like the possibility of Infernity is scary but I really don't think that deck will do much, also Launcher is still at 1, the Rulers can come back, I think Upstart is a bit iffy but this point I think it's probably fine

10:16 I don't see how Snatch Steal is any worse than Change of Heart. It would just be used to steal an opponent's monster and use it for combos, so who cares if it has the potential to stick around. It's just an equip spell Change of Heart, and it will be completely fine. 14:50 Joseph has already proven that Archfiend is fine as long as Launcher stays at 1. This will most likely change literally nothing.
