It's not really ponderous compared with Klemperer. Klemperer doesn't make weird mannerisms in a way Thielemann does with Schumann's music for example, that sudden retardando that distorts the architecture of the music. But as a Wagner conductor there's no better conductor on the planet as of now.

yu cao well considering that the Wagner family personally loves him as a conductor, Alex's critisism is pretty much made up out of thin air and solely based on personal preferences. I mean Beethoven is definitely not his "master section" in comparison to others as I'd call it. But I love him in the Bruckner - Wagner section and (in my opinion for ex.) nobody conducts the Tannhäuser Ouvertüre better than he does.

Thanks for your fair criticism. I just found it interesting that Internet seems to make “Criticism” a such cheap, emotional, irresponsible thing which make no meanings and worthless.
