Having a World Cup every two years takes away from the value of it as a whole. After this year’s tournament, there’s potential for one or both of Messi and Ronaldo to have not won the trophy. Arguably the 2 best players of all time without the biggest trophy in football. Pele won 3 World Cup’s a record that may never be broken, and considering the 4 year gap, makes his record all the more impressive. A 2 year gap means we could easily see multiple players potentially tie or break Pele’s record. It only diminishes the legacy. Now a player could win 2 and the future generations would think that gives them the edge over players of the past. The football calendar is already jam packed, with more games and already top players injured, the quality of matches would also deplete. Don’t fix something that isn’t broken

I think the problem is the fact everyone had to play 4 months of fixtures into 2 months it’s mental. That’s why injuries have been so common. High level pros can’t play twice a week every week it’s crazy

just take Liverpool for example…since 2019-2021, they played all out like madness…now, most players looked exhausted…too many games week in week out plus international games within those times too….player’s bodies can only push so much, they are not machines…

Now these same set of players will be representing their country at the grandest stage of all and playing their heart out. Exhaustion is bound to creep in and will affect their performance during world cup and we might have more unexpected results/upsets than we usually see in these tournaments.

If 1 or 2 players should ever faint on the pitches, that's it, it's going to be a serious problem.
