Things to Do in Yosemite / Yosemite Family Vacation: For our family summer vacation, we spent a week in Yosemite Valley. We (1) earned a Junior Ranger Badge, (2) visited the beautiful waterfalls (Bridalveil Fall, Lower Yosemite Fall, Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall), (3) rode our bikes / scooters, (4) had fun camping at the Upper Pines Campground, (5) took scenic drives (Tunnel View, Glacier Point, and the Mariposa Groves), hiked beautiful trails (Mirror Lake and Cook’s Meadow Loop), and (6) played in and tubed down the Merced River. We could not have had more fun! Thanks for watching.

Good video. I grew up in the 1960s, my family went to Yosemite every summer, starting when I was 5 years old up until my senior year in high school. We always camped at Lower Pines and at that time, all you had to do was go up to the little Ranger booth in the campground and request which campsite you wanted, we got the same one every year. Never had to reserve in advance, it was that easy. I remember going to see the Firefall every evening and on our way back to camp would hear people yelling Elmer. We went down the Merced River in rafts and took the Shuttle bus back up and went down the river again. Great memories. Love Yosemite.

This trip and video was so well planned! I wish I could have been that kind of parent! 😂 I had no idea those activities were even available. Life is too short to not make time to have special trips with our families. And Yosemite is a great place to teach our children about God and the beautiful creation that does his love. 💖🎁 Thank you for putting this together for families to have the information to make their trip great as well!

You will have a great time with your toddler. So much of the park is accessible by bike or stroller. Bring your swimsuit and let your little one enjoy the water.

This video was super helpful for our 4th July'2022 trip to Yosemite Valley. We used this video as a guide to plan all our activities and did exactly as you guys did. No kids so no scooters and Biking related stuff. Your kids are awesome. Unfortunately Glacier Point was closed so had to skip that part. Being a holiday weekend the park was packed there were lot of people. It was joyous watching people enjoying BBQ and family time. There is a free bus with two loop routes - one takes about 1:30 mins to complete the loop and the other about 50 mins. They both stop at major attractions. Really appreciate you taking the time to create an awesome video packed with information.

Hands down, best video on Yosemite with kids. Thank you! Very helpful as it is our first time and we have 4 children. I was a little overwhelmed and had a lot of questions, and you answered them and then some. And a big bonus is that we are staying at the same campsite where the bouncy log is-going to save that as a surprise for the kids ;) Best travels!

FYI: The history on “Elmer” dates back to the 1950’s when YNP did not have garbage dumpsters and there was a large area for the park “dump.” The dump drew bears to forage for food and people would walk to see them. One really large bear got named “Elmer” so calling “Elmer” into the campsite at dusk started a tradition that has lasted decades. Our family has camped there since the 1950’s.

Beautiful family. I also have a large family that I take out all the time, 3 boys and one girl. We just came back from Orlando it was a blast and first time on a plane for the kids. We have done road trips to sequoia, Ensenada, San Felipe and currently planning a trip to Sonora. Keep up the great videos.

We recently got back from Yosemite ourselves. We were also bummed that BridalVeil Falls was closed and under construction. BUT the visitor center is open and it was incredibly kid friendly. It has multiple things for the kids to interact with and find interesting. If you ever go back I highly recommend it!

@@allanbanezify We just went in July, we brought our own vests and rafts. The rafting season was already over so there was no rental and river water level was really low. We had to get out of raft to walk and pull the raft when we were in shallow area but some of us with inner tube didn't have to get up.

Isaac: My old man found a stick and thought it has magic powers 🤣 So I've thrown the stick into the water, to make it a boat, and to show to my dad it's just a regular stick. And he experienced little crisis, and cried, oh no what have you done to the magic stick? And I thought, oh great, now he's crying over the random stick he found on the path. And then he found another one and thought this one is magical too 🤣 He's getting old.

Hi guys I loved your videos they are very helpful I have a 8 year old daughter and a 15 year old son that wants to go to Yosemite it would be our first time going next year but what camp site did you guys stayed in??? And did you took a RV or tent ⛺️????

Hi. We stayed at the Upper Pines campground. And we rented an RV outside of Yosemite that we drove in. Hope that helps.

Very informative video. I’m going to Yosemite this weekends, I am curious about the rafting, how did you go back from the Sentinel Bridge to Stoneman Bridge? Thanks

Hi Chris! When the shuttle is running, logistics should be easier. But what we did is, when we got done, wife and kids took a snack break, started working on deflating all the rafts and packed everything up. Dad took a brisk walk back to the car parked near sentinel beach (there is a path next to the road and it was a beautiful hike back). It didn’t take too long to walk back because the river is windy. But the road is pretty straight. By the time dad drove back with the car, everything was cleaned up and the family was ready to go. It worked out great for us.

This video is really helpful for my coming trip to Yosemite with my 26 month old. It seems like Lower Yosemite Fall trails are mostly flat ground. Is stroller accessible at that trail?

Yes that trail is fully paved and accessible for a stroller.

Hi. When we went there was no shuttle service. Now a days the shuttle is open and you can catch a ride that way. In our case, Rusty walked back to get our car while Carianne stayed to deflate tubes and the kids just played on the beach. It was not a super far walk back for Rusty.

Really enjoyed the video! If I may ask several questions related to Merced River, did you bring your own raft? I read that you put in at Stoneman Bridge and take out at Sentinel Beach Picnic Area. Did you then walk back to where you started/parked with the deflated rafts? If a shuttle was available, you could get on with your deflated raft. But no shuttles during Covid-19 right? Just trying to figure out the logistics. You know, parents :)

Hi Godwin. Very good questions. There is a place that rents rafts that takes care of transportation for you I believe, but it was closed due to COVID. Plus you can’t put little ones on their rafts I believe. So this wasn’t an option for us and we brought our own rafts. You are correct that, when the shuttle is running, logistics are easier.
