Hey guys! I am sharing some things to think about before decluttering or if you are hitting a block in your decluttering journey. Decluttering our homes can be overwhelming and so many things and questions come into our heads when going through our things.
It is such an interesting time to confront our possessions and figure out what is truly adding meaning to our lives.
I wish you all the best on your journey! 🤍~with love and peace

Loved this wise and soothing video. So true! Love the comment of decluttering the closets of our minds. That is so important to the freedom of minimalism and keeping the things that add value and richness to our lives. Although I’ve removed furniture and artwork and kept only select pieces from sets (you can keep only the pieces you like and remove the rest), everyone who has entered my home instantly says how cozy and homey it is. For those beginning, start with one drawer. Start with trash, start with removing the holey socks and underwear! Just start. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. (Lao Tzu)

Thank you for mentioning that 'homey' doesn't mean you have to have a lot of stuff and decor items. I've definitely fallen in this stereotypical trap for ages. And for me personally decor items is the hardest category to declutter especially because most of my decor items have sentimental value for me (some were made by me, some were given by friends and family, some i brought home from travels, etc)

It truly is an easy trap to fall into! I know I have in the past. That is beautiful that your decor items are meaningful! 🤍

Thank you for another amazing video! I loved all of the points that you touched upon…I especially like the point that there isn’t a time limit. I need to step back and realize minimizing is a marathon, not a sprint. That it is okay to take a bit of time and not have to get to the end as quickly as I can! I just need to keep moving forward and I will get there-one step at a time! Thank you for sharing!!! I wish you all the best in the new year!🎉🎉🎉💕💗

Absolutely. I have heard the saying that minimalism is a tool, not a destination. Meaning it is a tool to create a meaningful and intentional life not this destination we get to achieve and are done with the journey...... I really like this way of looking at it. :) It truly is such an eye opening process and I wish you the best! Happy new year! 🤍

My mom saved a rubbermaid tote of all our special school papers and art work and when she downsized her house, she asked me " you dont want this stuff right?" And burned it all. Im thankful she unstood that its just stuff and it doesnt hold the memories, we do.

That was a very inspirational video. Great ideas and presented in a very educational way. Your calm and easy demeanor is motivating and keeps my interest. I am looking forward to your Sentimental Items video. I have many years of decluttering as my parents kept everything. I on the other hand can not keep anything i deem clutter. But enjoy stuff I kept from my parent's home. A big variety of items. Best wishes in the New Year and looking forward to your videos. I just came across your station recently. Thank you 🥰

We are ignoring the “rules” and doing our decluttering our own way. My husband and I are doing a room a week together. Much easier than when we downsized 2 years ago!

I love how you pointed out that decluttering is an on going thing!! The place I struggle with is homeschool 😢 we have a smaller home with 5 kids and they seem to do better at learning if I put posters and things where they can see it would love ideas as hate clutter on walls !!

Absolutely! I feel you with this. Right now, I have a wall of kids crafts and art displayed! 🙃 For educational posters and things for school, maybe pull them out for school time and then put them away in your school storage area when you are done with school for the day! Or if you like them up all the time for the kids, you could rotate through the posters you have on the walls so there are not so many out at all times? Just a couple thoughts!🤍

Loved this video 🙂 but question how do you declutter books you haven't read and don't think your going to read 🤔
@lightandmind77
@lightandmind77 6 ай бұрын
Great question! I would give myself a chosen time frame to read it by. For example: give yourself 3 months to start reading it and if you don't then you can let it go. :) Of course give yourself a time frame that works for you!
