Being a forever student is so much better than painting yourself into corners being a forever teacher. I know JP is both, he’s a great player. But. Teaching, at a high level, you’re forced to be a mystic who always has something to say and change about the individual’s creative drive. “If you can’t generate this wacky exercise on the fly, let me ‘teach you to do so’,” well, it really takes a forward-thinking student to hear that and go anywhere with it except back to the Xbox… Ignore me I’m just philosophizing!
