THINNER THAN HAIR - HOW TO BUILD A 46G FRAMED STAPLE COIL BUILD TUTORIAL FOR BEGINNERS

In this video I am building a framed staple coil and using 46 gauge wire (thinner than human hair). Really thin wire like this is extremely difficult to work with. Lets see how I do.
This is an advanced coil build, not for beginners. I am using 8 pieces of .5 x .1 kanthal ribbon wire, 26g frames, then wrapping it in the 46g.

just picked up some 50g myself. Saw some posts on reddit of squidoode using it back in 2015, and alot of other ppl have used it in 2016. I must say, this is insane. If you've ever seen a pic of a 50g fused clapton you know what im talking about. If done correctly and smooth it just looks like one piece of metal, also the flavor is insane. I've claptonned alot with 44g so it didnt take that long for me to learn 50g, but i've yet to perfect it. If its not tight enough even the slightest it leaves a tiny gap thats very noticeable in the otherwise whole look. very tricky. fun fact: 50 gauge wire is 25 microns in diameter which is roughly the same size as a white blood cell.

Made 4 great sticks of .8x1 ni80 ribbon with 40g ni80 wrap 6 ply or 8 ply after folding over...when I try to wrap them the wire gets all wonky and will not coil up or stay flat. Any tips? Am I using the wrong ribbon type? Should I get small KA 1 ribbon as its more ridgid? Ive fucked up 4 times now on the coiling they look twisted and will not stay put no matter how much force I pull them with. I do not own a vice either. +Keifer Smith very low. The more cores you stuff into a coil the lower it ohms. I tried getting 6 wraps on each one but ended up having to take a wrap off. I'll be doing a video on this coils performance at some point. I think it will end up around .10 or lower

My cut off is 40ga claps, 46 is just bonkers! Well done sir, some very nice build vids you have going on. I like that you use wire sliders and not paperclips, pressure pins, Alien makers or any "cheat" helpers. Hate seeing speed wrapping 3+ core aliens using the new fad "alien makers".. Guess I'm old school and think if you can't wrap aliens freehand you shouldn't claim to be an expert builder, just my humble opinion.

+Mr.DayTiMe I just heard about people using logos for the first time the other day. It's definitely not cheating, whatever helps get the build don't cleanly is the right way.

I find finer gauge cover wire is wrapped more closely and though it boosts flavour, it causes coils to gunk up faster. So flavour boost is for a couple days only, then after 4 days if it's gunked, that smothers the vaper and mutes flavour afterwards. Even a framed staple I build with 38GA last nowhere near as long before gunking as say a dual core alien with 36GA and especially a staggered alien with 36GA. Do you agree? More maintenance with finer gauges.
@SherlockHohms
@SherlockHohms 6 жыл бұрын
point one I absolutely agree. There are trade offs with different coils.

I've tried this same build but with different specs. 8 pieces .5 ribbon, 26g frame and 40g wrap all on stainless steel and it did not fire up on my rdta and rdta. It said ohms to low. I was disappointed that I made such a beautiful coil and couldn't vape it.

I have very minimal experience with it, and Kidney Puncher just sent me my first 100' spools of Ka1, .4 x .1 And Ss316L .5 x .1 When the rest of the wire gets here, I want to start trying staples and fraples. How much pressure do you put on the wrap wire? Every time I attempt this, the wires get bunched up. I never get them flat the way you do?
@SherlockHohms
@SherlockHohms 7 жыл бұрын
Sledge Man hardly any pressure at all. You want just enough for the wrap to lay down nice. Too much tension on the wrap wire will fold your cores. Make sure your swivels are spinning freely as well.

Kyle McKimmy hey Kyle. The switch from? A sub ohm tank? There a lot of good builds but for just starting I would recommend a single round wire build. Once you master that you can start moving forward. Are you going for clouds or flavor? That will have a big impact on what I recommend.

Kyle McKimmy some RTAs are a little harder to build and wick but you don't have to constantly drip. They both have pros and cons. I started with rdas. Most are fairly easy to build but some are easier than others. If you're going for flavor and ease I highly recommend the Dead Rabbit RDA. I have a review on it. It's simple and is a flavor machine. It holds as much juice as most RTAs and it really well built. The price is fantastic as well. I think they just release a bunch of colors also. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

When you do these frames Staples does your cotton turn brown quick now I don't mean like black but like light brown darkish brown kind of colored it seems whenever I do fused Clapton's my cotton stays Almost White for like almost a week and every time I make a frame stapled and use it my cotton turns brown the next day I've done .5 with 26 gauge frame 40 gauge wrap and now I just try to .3 with 26 gauge frame all nichrome but the ribbon wires kanthal eight pieces it just makes me feel weird and I don't know if it's just in my head but as soon as it turns brown I feel like I'm not getting the flavor that I do or should be from the beginning or like on a fused Clapton... Any suggestions ideas I love building but a lot of the times I feel like I'm not doing it right I've never got into anything other than single double Tri core fused or regular frame Staples I want to start getting into the more intricate stuff I watched your live video on the Enigma that looks sweet sorry this is so long I watch a lot of other reviewers and Builders but honestly you've got to be one of my favorite real life down to earth seems like you do this for fun not like a job like most others

Sadly, due to the very dense and close design of a framed staple, doing it in a high gauge clapton will suffer a lot as it is so tightly wrapped that it does not wick efficiently and it gunks up insanely fast. I am speaking from experience with 40-44ga clapton on a framed staple coil, so 46ga is gonna make it worse. But, it does look gorgeous when you are done making it for sure. But usability is very limited.
