Alien math is 3:1. So find a wire chart, add the total thicknesses of your cores up, then divide that number by 3. Your answer is the size decore you need. Simple.

dang! i nailed it.i use the fully no stretch method and accomplish it nicely.but,i modify the way i prep my core wires,i use hot glue on both ends (chuck end & swivel end),combing those ribbon with another piece of ribbon as sliding binding aparatus,and i tie the both ends with 40g.another trick that i learned,make sure you have an inch or two inch of tail on your decore wire before wrapping the actual alien decore,it just helps those core to lock in place in this particular build.because the tension on your decore hand will likely to collapse those ribbon cores,so ideally you do this trick to keep those ribbon stack stays nice.also,i leave the frame a little bit longer on the swivel loop and on chuck side so the frame will take the twist but the ribbon core wont.once again,thank you mr hohms for this tutorial,i watched this fralien and no stretch tutorial over and over,and i finally did it! My tips on this build - sharp snips for clean cuts, good lighting, a drill that starts real slow before it ramps up and try not to think when you are in the zone!

I just found all your great KZfaq videos and I follow you and look forward to a live stream. I’ve been Vaping for 5 years and now want to learn how to build coils. Now I see there are many different gauges and variety of different wires and even mesh to choose from. I bought the Coil Master Kit,Jig Set,Jig tool,Brush and a torch and once I figure this out I have the Daedalus too. So now I’m trying to research which wire and gauge to start with or does it depend on which RDA,RTA or Tank your going to use it in? Was just hoping you could give me some advice or a good link with instructions to get me started. Do I use Fused,Stainless Steel etc? Maybe one of your videos on your channel explains everything that I just asked you. I have a few tanks that I use the pre made Mesh strips and just started looking if I could but a $4.00 roll and cut my own? Watching you it blows my mind and you must have been doing this for years because you are Amazing! How did you learn to start building coils? Any help would be So,SO Appreciated! Yo bro, first off, its nice to know a fellow PSU FB fan who I can watch vape stuff on. I've really been learning a lot from your channel from when I just started building about two weeks ago. I've done some claptons and attempts @ an alien, and some braiding. Do you have a video recommending intermediate builds for a mechanical type person/ above claptons but below staples. Favorite braids etc.? ..... WE ARE! I'm in Eastern PA/L.V. hbu Thanks for all you do!

I see messages from ppl saying they got juice from you for e mailing their senator. I hope to be hearing from you soon because I take you as a man of your word. I'm sure you have a shit load of emails to go through though, so I'm waiting patiently... I was doing my part for advocacy LOOOONG before you started promising ppl juice for proof that they e mailed their senators, btw. But, fair is fair and a mans word is everything, right? Recognize that Wish style clamp or jewlers vice as they say! Got that same one and was like, damn u kinda small! But i put it into use and it's battle tested and Danny approved! These are my fav video's of all time, just watching someone working wire is the best. It's like ASMR for me!

How crazy that hands that evolved to allow us to use sticks to pick bugs out of trees and shit now allow us to apply slightly varying amount of pressure on a piece of wire that we've already bent to our will to create something so beautiful. Then again, it's only beautiful to us humans, show a cow and it'll just go MOOO.

I just want to ask you about the Nichrome 80 you may use (or stainless steel), i love to use Nichrome 80, but the one i do use is pale blue after pulsing it compared to yours i use to buy it from a cheap supplier( Amazon(germany) And usually 50 to 100M Spules, or up to 330feet) , should i rather pick a more expensive Brand or is there some special trick to it? I usually use dishsoap and a toothbrush and ultrasonic cleaning aswell.. I just started Building Coils, i spent in total less then 30 hours so far:/

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong anytime I try to use ribbon or do a tri-core the cores fold over on themselves. I’ve used tape and scrap wire. I’ve used paper clips and no matter what the cores do not stay flat. I’ve tried easing up on the outer wire so it isn’t putting tension on the cores when I Clapton. No matter what it always ends in failure. Any further tips on this step would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just a quick question regarding preparation for fused claptons. When I do the loop around the swivel and crimp it together, my wire seems to always cross each other near the swivel. At this point the wire isn't even inserted into the chuck of the drill. Does your wire ever cross and if it does, does it really matter? If I reverse it and do the looping around the swivel last and insert the 2 ends of the wire into the chuck of the drill first, and then do the loop around the swivel, one of the wires always seems to be longer than the other when I pull. My fused claptons does come out good, but the preparation is poor.

Sean Robinson JR if it ain't broke don't fix it , but if the stack is lined up nice in the swivel you should just be able to pinch and pull it down towards the drill end.

I know this is a very old video however I just wanted to see if anyone would respond or leave any feed back. Does anyone else find that kanthal takes forever to ramp up? I mainly use Ni80 or SS with my DNA chipsets. Just curious to see what other people are using and how they feel about kanthal

Pull on either side with a pair of pliers, that should be enough to space it

I was actually wondering if you still did the coil building thing. If I asked you to recommend an rta, what would it be? I struggle finding something that can keep up with the wicking but I can’t really use a dripper at work.
