I simply cannot see a business case for a market justification and ROI, knowing the aviation market well. You have been lucky with your investors! Best regards from a factory somewhere in Hamburg.

….and we are 5 years beyond the date he claimed it would definitely be in service. Also, the so called prototype (a de facto rc model) has never demonstrated a spot turn, a hover taxi, a fast stop, or a crosswind approach. All things they cannot do that are integral to the claimed mission.

@@XPLAlN Do the Lilium guys really call it a prototype?
@XPLAlN

@@avigator idk, but the last flying model was officially the ‘5th generation technology demonstrator’? A lot of the fanboys insist the model is a prototype of course.
@avigator
@avigator 2 ай бұрын
@@XPLAlN Yes, because what they have so far is only a demonstrator. A prototype is something completely different. The prototype is actually the first build of the real aircraft. Ideally, only minor changes will be necessary to evolve a prototype into the production aircraft.

Given how long it takes to get FAA certification, there is absolutely ZERO chance this will be commercially ready in 2025 or even 2027. More like 2030, and that is assuming they can get a craft ready in the next year or two.

It's so beautiful, I hope Lilium wins based on esthetics alone :) Two questions: 1. Why so few prototypes? Why not go the SpaceX route and have improved prototypes every month flying around with continuous testing? 2. Why human pilots? Driving AI is so much harder... you have children, paper bags, stop signs, etc.. In the air, just birds and the occasional drone.

Lilium and Jetoptera are both doing this the right way. Fewer moving parts and no massive blades, which could endanger the riders and craft in the event of a mishap.
