Simply beautiful, no idiotic driving. I was a Gixxer, Suzuki GSXR 750 for 13 years and in 1997 I bought a brand new ZX9R. I drove that for 10 years, then the Zx10R until today. But I sold it and want to get a 1997 Zx9r again. Just the sound. Memories of earlier days. Splendid. Thanks for this video. I'm definitely buying a 9 Series Ninja now 🙂

Hi all I purchased this same bike ZX9R C2 new in June 1999 still got it 24 years later it still gives me a rush but age is catching up with me not the bike , go careful all .

I just sold a 10R to make room for a 9R......I'm an old fart and have almost made 60!! I inherited an 01 9R that has been in a dining room for 22 years!!!!! Basically delivery mileage on the the bike.....I'm so pumped......listen to this thing!

My boy had this engine transplanted into a 2nd gen zx7. Ridiculous bike. The ZX9 was so 🔥.

I’m aware. 3rd and 4th gear doesn’t always goes as smooth as it should be.

A lot a negative comments here ,so let me change that ..zx9r a powerful machine,i ride acD7 zzr1100 ,old ,but powerful,zx9r almost same power ,but way lighter,not an R1,which origionally changed d whole game ,but at d end if d day ,y love bikes,we love bikes

Tip from 40 plus yr if riding speed shift to stop gear clunk up shifting. While accelerating apply pressure on shifter luke up shifting for split second let off and right back on throttle next gear is butter smooth no need for clutch does not hurt bike or gear box. Fast smooth upshifts. Throttle drop unloads trans with throttle like electronic shifter does by cutting ignition for split second.

@@POV_Rides no problem was lucky had a road racer in neighborhood as teen rider he taught me a ton of tricks. Find a experienced rider and ask they live passing down knowledge also read books Google stuff lots of great tips out there that took guys decades to learn. Best thing ever for me was real rider school at track for beginner racers makes you much better street rider. If you have road track near by call them if not local dealers may be able to hook you up with a customer who knows stuff. Bikers are very open to helping new riders. We want you to be an old rider 😂

Factory claims about 280-290 I believe. I’ve had around 270-280 on the speedometer. Pretty fast considering it’s over 25 years old.

These models are known for to have a bad gearbox. Pretty easy to blame it on the rider…

To nay rider who thinks they need latest 1000 go buy ninja 400 twin go to track and you will see a few try to keep up with those guys on same bike. When you cannot you will get the answer you cannot ride a 400 to the limit so what makes you think you ready for a real fast bike?

The transmission is a common problem among the B and C model I believe. I’m not sure how to fix it. Probably won’f either since I want another bike next season

@@POV_Rides Then no way, it just lasts a season. Otherwise, ZX-9 E/F or Z1000 1gen complete transmission replacement. Anyway, the video is good, the quarter century looks good :)

What's the best way to tell if the transmission is ok what's yours doing just clunking into gears?

@@johnnyaroha4246 especially going into 3rd or 4th gear, it doesn't go smooth. It just rattles in between. You have to be more careful when shifting is the best way to describe it I think. It doesn't always do that but it happens on occasion. If you really have to try hard when shifting, you have the gearbox problem for this model.

Kawasaki gearboxes are always clunky across the entire range. I've had 550's and GPZ500's which sounded exactly the same. However once the gearbox is fully warmed up, they are smooth, nothing to worry about.
