It is almost broken in LOL my first ninja I bought new in 85 the 600 red and white daily drove it in school and work for 6 yrs had just over 60k miles you could not kill the damn thing I tried. Damn thing was bullet proof never had one part of any type fail not one. Did maintenance religiously but it lived at redline a lot. I replaced clutch with barnett one at 40k was fine but wanted heavy duty as I went drag racing for a while on weekends and figured at 40k miles stock may not handle multiple hard launches but up til then never slipped was a upgrade not a fix. Like pipe rersets etc. but motor was stone stock vale adjusts plugs oil and filters chain and sprockets and a truck load of tires, them old bias ply tires good for 3000 miles at best so I put like 20 sets on over 6 yrs. at 300 a set do the math more than cost of bike which was 3299 brand new with 1.1 miles on it. When I looked at reciepts for tire maintenance and go fast goodies over 6 yrs I almost passed out. bike was cheap but rack up 60k miles the other stuff adds up fast

Excellent video, and a superb machine indeed. The old-generation sportbikes always give me classic American muscle car vibes. Bulky by modern standards, minimal technology and lacking refinement, but providing a visceral experience without hand-holding. As a brief aside, I'd recommend swapping fonts to something a bit easier on the eyes and slightly decreasing text size so you can squeeze in complete paragraphs without needing to flip between blocks of text mid-sentence. That being said, I seem to be at complete odds with another commenter, so take what I said with a healthy pinch of salt. Most importantly, ride safe!
@POV_Rides

Thank for the feedback! I will look into another font and decreasing the size. I agree about the older generation bikes. No high tech driving modes, abs or any of that stuff. Just your skills of controlling the bike. I'm thinking about buying another old-generation sportbike..... Subscribe to stay up to date.

Great job on the video! I must say, you nailed it. Your use of subtitles was just right, not too overwhelming, neither less nor more and the timestamps were spot on. I'm stunned by your work. Keep it up, and I look forward to more amazing content from you.

Thanks a lot man for the support! I will keep on working with time stamps from now on. Subtitles whenever I feel like talking about something. I’m already thinking about the bike for next season, so I will make a video about that discussing my thoughts about what to buy.

I always loved that bike, but the one I had was a zx6r 2001, it was incredible. If I ever come back to riding bikes I'd buy the zx9r or a big naked. Deep inside myself this is my all time favorite bike. It has comfort, performance and low fuel consumption from what I see. The Zx6r was very good with mileage. Ride safe.
@POV_Rides
@POV_Rides Жыл бұрын
600's are vey cool. High revving machines. Low fuel consumption isn't true for me. That also has a to do with how hard you ride it. With my ZX9R I do on average 19-20 MPG or 12 litres per 100km.
@ravedisc
@ravedisc Жыл бұрын
@@POV_Rides i remember something along the lines of 5-5.5L / 100km with the Zx6r. 12L is really a huge consumption, you must ride it very hard or should tune the carbs for better mileage. Thank you for your reply.
@POV_Rides
@POV_Rides Жыл бұрын
@@ravedisc yeah I know. I don't ride that hard. Ofcourse I don't ride like an old man but my dad thinks the engine is set slightly too rich in terms of fuel. But on the other hand, I don't ride to get good fuel consumption hahahahaha
@dukenukem8048
@dukenukem8048 11 ай бұрын
@@POV_Rides That is insanely bad MPG. I get 45-50 MPG on my 03 and beat it up every time I have a stop sign. Float bowl heights is very crucial with these, or any CV carbed bike for that matter. If it's still getting too much fuel I'd look at the needle and seat and the o-ring for the seat. How does it start cold?

I don’t understand people saying it’s a heavy bike? It’s 203kg wet, that’d lighter than a fazer600 and 24kg lighter than a fzer1000. The latest s1000rr isn’t even 10kg lighter than this bike?
@POV_Rides
@POV_Rides 10 ай бұрын
The latest S1000RR probably feels lighter due to new technology. A first gen ZX10R only weighs 170KG (wet) for instance.
@josephparry
@josephparry 10 ай бұрын
I’m not sure how the new technology would impact weight if we’re referring to technology as abs, traction control, computers etc? Bike geometry (how high or low the front is compared to the rear), where the weight is, the condition of the suspension and tire pressures will all make a difference. I’ve seen people flick these bikes around like you’d expect based on paper stats (140bhp 203kg), so if it feels heavy there could be something else to blame here? It would be interesting to know what your sag is set to, how fresh the suspension is, whether it’s set up correctly to keep the front low / neutral to the rear and what tyre pressure, make, and profile you had. A lot of questions, but the zx9r shouldn’t feel heavy. It might even be the clip on angle. A good test is to push your butt back and try to tuck in so that when you steer you are 100% pushing the bars forwards instead of when you’re sat upright and can be pushing them diagonally downward. I found this on a lot of Kawasakis for me because I’m tall. The answer was to either lie flat (uncomfortable), get risers, or convert to flat bars to improve leverage / angle I was pushing towards the bars. Anyway, hopefully this may help some people diagnosing a heavy feeling on a lighter bike.

@@josephparry I've had other people ride it and they say the same thing. Rode an R6 of a friend of mine. Way way lighter than a ZX9R!
@josephparry
@josephparry 10 ай бұрын
@@POV_Rideswhat year? The old ones are only 3kg lighter, but the new ones are crazy light, like 190kg but I think that’s 2017+ but also that’s a 600 vs a 900 so I’d expect it to be lighter. The point I’m making is the zx9r is one of the lightest 900-1000cc bikes in its class, so if it feels heavy you’re either comparing it to 125’s or it’s not setup right. That setup could be as simple as tire pressure, or it could be bar leverage etc. It’s not heavy as bikes go, so if it feels that way, something is wrong/off. Regardless, it doesn’t matter that much, if you want to change it then you will! And that’s totally cool, bikes are so personal and only your smile will dictate what the right bike for you is dude! Keep riding, keep smiling! Thanks for the video!
