When she noticed her adorable ball python Pretzel was always trying to burrow into her sleeves or under her blankets, McKenna decided to crochet him his very own cave to explore. But he still occasionally comes out to cuddle or watch "Ghost Adventures."
You can keep up with Pretzel and all of his adventures on Instagram: thedo.do/pretzelthesnak.

I went from having the worst level of phobia towards snakes until I was drawn to videos depicting Ball Pythons and all of their amazing morphs (literally thousands of various patterns and colors). How could I be scared of a yellow, pink, and purple snake, right? So, I started researching and meeting people with these amazing creatures. A year later, my first Ball Python hatchling arrived; a stunning Cinnamon Pied male. He has the sweetest and gentle soul I could possibly imagine❣ Soon, two more arrived. They're like potatoe chips, folks. 😜🥰🐍

Are snakes really costly? They look adorably tbh. And I’m kinda scared of them. When I was a kid there was this guy who had a lot of snakes living near us, and one of them bit him and he died, and when the police found his body, all of the snakes were having a feast on it. I’m just really skeptical abt getting one😞

My wife went through a similar journey with me, except that we don't have a ball python yet, but are looking to buy one soon. She has always been afraid of snakes to the point where looking at the sweetest snakes in a video still made shivers run down her spine. One day I said that, only if she is ok with it as well, I'd like to get a ball python as a pet. She was scared of that day, of course, but supportive as she is, she said she will happily help with getting one for us and maybe it'll help her get over her fear. Since then, I have started off with showing her some pictures of beautiful morphs, then going slowly over to watching cute snake videos, and then to morph breakdown videos where the morphs are explained in detail, such as the morph guides series of Benjamin's Exotics, and now she is almost as fascinated by them as I am and actually wants not one, but multiple of them in the future once we got used to our first one and made enough experience for ourselves. She's even got her favorite morphs already. For some more tips on keeping them, we'll be asking my cousin, who has had a pet ball python himself before, and then I'd say we're all set to get everything needed and, a bit after that, our first ball python

@@oneaeeeeopenwhenimsleeping4664 those police lied to you about the body. snakes can't tear or chew so they only eat what they can swallow whole, and while its not unbelievable that the man may have died from a snake bite if he had venomous ones and didn't keep antivenom on hand for some reason, no venomous snake gets large enough to try and eat a person. there's maybe 3 snakes in the world that even remotely get large enough to do so. as far as reptile keeping goes, cost varies. certain species and breeds may be fairly cheap or be on par with purebred dogs and cats. you need an adequately sized enclosure with hiding spaces, and a heat and UV lamp, and need to make sure a vet specialized in reptiles lives nearby. most snakes people keep will be periodically fed feeder mice or feeder rats from the pet store, although a couple like garter snakes can also be fed live feeder fish. its very important to make sure you have a reliable food supply as snakes are infamous for being picky eaters and while its good to respect animals, snakes are not usually anything to be afraid of. the majority of reptiles are very consistently chill and mild mannered if you have tamed them and keep them comfortable and well fed. during a taming phase you should expect to be nipped a bit as young snakes naturally come out of the egg very defensive, and snakes also become irritable during shedding as they partially lose their eyesight during that period. but if you don't scare your snake its going to happily use you as a warm blanket.

Shane Cormier: I was just curious about something. What does ball mean? It's a ball python right? Is that because they go into a ball like pose as a defense or do they get scared easy? I think it's a beautiful being and I've no issues with snakes at all but sometimes get confused as to why some snakes are named the way the are. Sorry if I'm not making much sense but my A. D. D. Is in overdrive and it makes it hard for me to ask simple questions. Hope you have a good day..

@@michealsharp8117 they're called ball pythons because when they're scared they'll curl up into a ball with the head in the center! As I recall, I believe it's a sign of your snake being content and curious and comfortable. Think about it, periscoping makes them very visible, and snakes generally don't like to be visible, with possible exception of a few species. So for the noodle to periscope, they must feel very comfortable and secure.

Ball pythons are very docile creatures! My little man Tiki doesn't even have a "strike" instinct (the quick, darting movement snakes use to grab prey)...I just put his food down, and he pokes his head out of his cave, smells it for a moment, and then gets his mouth around it (sometimes it takes a few tries) and drags it back into the cave for some breakfast in bed 😆

So my husband and I were hired to help remodel an apartment that had been severely destroyed the tenants were 6 mo behind on rent and up and left without a trace. 2 weeks into the project 2terrified 19 yo boys who ripped out the carpet saw the snake, called my husband and I. I saw the helpless Freezing snake all rolled in a ball, picked him up and new he needed a home. The day I brought him home he guzzled water the next day he ate. I made a huge cage for him where he can be in a dark warm area. A dark cool area, or even sun bathe under a light he enjoys it all.... Trust me I didn’t go looking for a creature to take from his home. But I will say he “Zion” has taught m so much. I have debated giving him up to someone who has snakes already... or a reptarium, to someone who loves snakes too. I just haven’t found someone who would in courage mental stimulation as much as me. They are too intelligent to be put in a glass home. and so the love I found for this guy has made me want to help others understand them as well. So in said He’s apart of the family now!!!

My mom had two super thick books on all the different species and I’d read them all the time! As much as I love them though, I wouldn’t really be willing to handle a venomous snake. I’m not trained for one thing, and I know I’d get bitten really fast. I’m very bad at reading a snake’s body language! lol

Just goes to show there is a pet out there for everyone. I think you can bond with any kind of animal, we can learn so much from each of them. All animals deserve our respect & compassion. God Bless from Georgia 🇺🇸

I think my fear of snakes developed from the movie Anaconda and other media where they're deliberately depicted as scary and dangerous. I do find them intriguing creatures but they still make me a bit uneasy but Pretzel seems very chill!

yes "anaconda" is such a cheesy movie like first of anaconda don't move that fast and second they don't do tail wipe and swallow pray whole without killing them first and third anacondas or any snake see people as pray yeah media makes snakes seem like "bloody dangerous killers" but in reality they're just animals that like to be left alone so I don't blame you for being scared of snakes
