I really liked how you provided the battery runtime into the four different run options. Exactly, which gas models were you referring to when you said the Milwaukee ‘tool only’ option was a cheaper. Since this video was comparing the Milwaukee to other gas models, what’s your thought process for thinking 6200 RPM’s is insane when Shindaiwa’s T262 model reaches 9,100 RPM at full throttle and costs $30 less. I enjoyed the review and would really like to see you do a comparison to my Milwaukee single battery.

Milwaukee’s marketing says it compares it to “Leading 31 CC Gas Competitors”. I was comparing to ECHO SRM-3020, Stihl FS 111R, RedMax BCZ3060TS.

That makes sense. Glad to see actual real world info without blatantly gushing over Milwaukee like some people do, but I won’t mention names like VGC Construction or anything. Full disclosure, I bought the dual battery last night, but still undecided on keeping it or getting the single battery model.

I recently purchased the M18 brushcutter, run time is my only complaint. I get about 20 minutes from each 8.o battery, was looking at getting a couple of 12.o batteries, but in the UK, that's almost £500! 😮

@@tgsgardenmaintenance4627 yeah, seems like with anything battery powered, run time is always going to be an issue. Lots of companies (including Milwaukee) are coming up with faster charging solutions to help combat the issue. I find that having two (or even 3) sets of batteries with their supercharger helps. Batteries are insanely expensive though.

@@tgsgardenmaintenance4627 I’m not sure yet, I haven’t really looked into it. It’s still a 18 volt pack and 12 ah. So I’d think the power and runtime would be exactly the same. But perhaps there are some other things built into the new battery that improves charging. Might just be marketing too. 🤷‍♂️

Is this better than the quick lock system? I mean is it worth locking yourself out of the quick lock system for the extra power and runtime?

I’m gonna test out the quick-lok system soon. But it would have been nice to see it in the dual battery version. Possibly in the future? Seems easy enough to put a coupler on the shaft of this unit.

Does anyone know if they will be releasing a Quik-Lok version of this? Is there a downside to Quick-Lok that I'm not aware of? I just don't understand why one wouldn't want that.

I have asked, and they don't currently have it on their radar. I actually just got the single battery quick-lok version and it seems powerful enough so far. Videos coming out in the next few weeks.

For the professional landscapers who use string trimmers all day long. You’ll probably need 2-3 sets of batteries and a setup to be able to charge on the go. If you have that, you’ll be able to run continuously all day. For The homeowner… I can’t see a situation where you would run out of charge in a single use unless you have a massive property and are string trimming for 30-40 minutes straight. This is ideal if you are already on the M18 battery platform and have a spare set of batteries.

Varies by how much string you have, speed setting, and what size batteries you are using. If using the 8.0 batteries, it ranges between 20 and 50 minutes. 20 minutes using a 17” cutting swath on high speed and 50 minutes using a 15” cutting swath on low speed.

It’s certainly not cheaper then a much more powerful gas trimmer like a Stihl fs240 or Echo 410x when you factor in the cost of the batteries. Unless you have 6 or more 8AH m18 batteries laying around this thing is going to cost a damn fortune. Don’t get be wrong I like most of my Milwaukee tools and have a few 5 AH batteries. In my experience tools that run constantly like my POS M18 grinder will drain batteries in 5 minutes or so, a lot faster then you can charge them! Then factor in the fact that the batteries are always to hot to charge and your looking at a situation where you are going to need a ton of batteries and a couple chargers. That shaft is way to short it hurts my back just watching you bend over to use it. Milwaukee has severely overpriced this unit it should be around $150 without batteries and $400 max as a kit with 4 batteries and a charger. I could buy a new Echo 410X for $600 and it will run circles around this unit. This unit (according to Milwaukee) can only run .105 line max! They say running larger will damage the motor! Anything less then .130 line is next to useless for real word work.

Let's be honest here: why can't all they brand battery's be compatible. It's a huge inefficiency in the industry and very anti consumer. Gas makes all brands compatible. Non standardized batteries do not. Let's as a consumer base COMPLETELY REJECT this BS ecosystem of brand by brand battery systems. Their is no environmentalism savings from a "life cycle analysis" perspective if we as consumers allow this to happen.

A lot of the design is actually in the batteries themselves. Companies are marketing their stuff based on things like run time, weight, charge time, power, etc… which all depend on the battery. I see what you mean though.
