I didn’t know that his son fell from the 53rd floor from a building that is extremely sad. The video kind of throws me for a loop but that’s why we have you guys here to correct us if we are headed in the wrong direction of understanding what the music is actually about thank you guys.

It wasn't a hotel, it was out of the mom's home in a New York city skyscraper. Fell out an open window from the 53rd floor. Truly horrible

After our dad passed at the young age of 58 my mom was beyond heartbroken and asked why she couldn't die with him! They married at 18, had 4 kids and were just shy of celebrating their 41st anniversary. Mom is now 73 and has never wanted to be with anyone else. She knows when her time comes she will be with dad again ❤

I’m so sorry you lost your dad. Bless you all and your mom. My husband very suddenly passed away just over 3 years ago. We have 4 adult children and grandchildren. Our youngest played n sang this song at his service. My son had never performed in front of anyone or been mic-ed up. He got a standing ovation. Our hearts turned to dust the day we lost him. It has changed our lives forever. I too am not interested. I had my happily ever after.

I remember that day. Found out about Conner's death that morning on the news and was distraught and distracted as though it was someone in my own family. Couldn't wait to leave work, pick up my son at the babysitter, and hug him.

The video is from the movie RUSH the song was on the soundtrack. The movie is about two undercover narcotic officers who get hooked on the drugs their not supposed to actually take with the criminals they buy from, .....but they do. Stars Jason Patrick from the Lost Boys, Jennifer Jason Lee from Fast Times at Ridgemont high, Sam Elliot the eternal mustache and cowboy, and Greg Allman from the Allman bros band as the ultimate drug dealer. It is a sad movie, and a sad song and situation with his son to inspire it. The song was his catharsis to help get over the tremendous pain. He had to share that with more than just himself. The world was glad to help Eric, we all love him.

I met Eric, in a weird place. Price Chopper. We were both looking at dried soup mixes. I am a very laid back person. The more excited I feel in public, the calmer I appear,...until I get home. Anyway, Eric and I was looking at soups. I knew exactly who I was talking to. I said "You look so much like Eric Clapton." He was so calm, cool and collected. He said "People tell me that all the time" He knew that I knew. It was pretty cool.

I had to make the decision to pull the plug on my mom after she suffered a stroke during a long cancer treatment, and that's as short as I can tell that story. This song always takes me back to that choice.

The movie clips are from "Rush", 1991. The couple are undercover cops in the 70's struggling with drug addiction. Clapton wrote the soundtrack. He also lives about 2 miles up the road from me, really nice guy.

It was for his toddler son who fell out of window of a skyscraper in New York. I happened to be working across the street that day and you never saw so many police cars. By the way the movie is called “Rush” about two undercover cops who infiltrate a drug operation. Good film. This was on the soundtrack.

You guys should do Angel Eyes by The Jeff Healy Band. The lead singer is blind so the lyrics are incredible if you keep that in mind. My ex, longest relationship I've had at 8 years, always said that song reminded him of me. I think you guys would really love it, excellent voice and very catchy!

Everytime I hear this song, I think of his son Conor. Clapton said he was in such despair that writing this song helped him save himself. He and his wife divorced after the tragedy and he drank a lot. I don't know why I get this image in my head, but I bet he celebrates his son's birthday every year. I wish I knew for sure.

the movie is RUSH .Dude is a junkie undercover cop and they bring in the female fresh from cop school get her to help him bring down the local drug dealer played by Greg Allman Brothers Band.It is a great movie

I do not think he was a junkie until the HEAD ring leader dealer made them try the drugs in front of him... to prove they weren’t cops-VERY intense scene as he eyeballed their expressions, etc.. to see if he could tell- since they could not blow their cover they had to act natural and do it.. to get outta there alive..sooo..
