Mcdoubles back again with a brand new video today featuring the STARCALLER on the Conquest of Azeroth ALPHA servers!
This class can literally do it all. Tank, DPS, Heal, 2h-melee, 1h/shield, caster, archer, and even a SUPPORT! Not only that but its a faithful recreation of the Priestess of the Moon Hero from Warcraft3.
This was another really long one but there was a lot to cover! Hope you enjoy it (like the video!)

I've always loved balance druid on live, and the instant I saw all the classes on CoA I knew this (and/or stormbringer) will be a main. The fantasy is so cool. I hope the gameplay adds up in the end!

This one, cultist, and primalist are the ones I had my eyes on the most when I had time to keep up with CoA. They have heals and are melee dps, my favorite niche for pvp! Loved the long video!

I'm sorry, Moonwell not mentioned in retail? Maybe not anymore, but the reason for that is very simple: Every quest that involved a moonwell in vanilla got skipped because they were so annoying. It's like Blizzard couldn't think of anything involving a moonwell other than "Travel halfway across the world to reach this kiddy pool of moonwater that's defended by level 60 elites and dunk this donut in it, then bring it back to me for 12 EXP and a pat on the back".

damn that guardian was wreckless, i would quit my job in the scarlet monestary after seeing around 20 buddys of mine just getting Taunted by a Guardian who just shrugs it off with your help XD

When I tried healing as a Chronomancer it felt very fun and not that hard, they have nice aoe burst healing on a bit long cooldown, but it's okay. Invincibility on short cooldown that they can put on anyone, awesome HoT if maintained properly, a pet bronzedrake that heals and buffs allies. Oh and mass res every 10 minutes or so, that can be used even when the whole party is dead. Mana issues might come from not switching to spirit stat (since dpsing and openworld leveling is intellect) and not using Quake(Unearth?) that essentially restores a lot of mana. Also later, in talents more awesome healing spells open up. It is maybe a little bit higher difficulty class, managing the Chaos and Order stacks might be hard, but it's a learning curve.

If you use the Remake talent, that AOR heal’s cool down is negligible, primarily because it is a heal that counts as a Chaos ability, building order stacks, so you can just Remake (to 95 order stacks) then AOE heal then Remake > AOE heal occasionally switching to your normal heal for single target, doing unearth in large packs, etc.

From my experience playing the Starcaller you could play it in two different ways in melee. The first is the Starlord approach using a 2h weapon but the main stat is strength since it does weapon damage, Celestial Strike actually hits pretty hard with str and Starsunder was hitting fairly hard still only problem there is a sizable difference in damage with Moonblade between str and int. The second is a DW intellect approach using the stars aspect, DWing daggers to proc the astral flares as much as possible while dealing massive damage with Starsunder. As for tank it's better to go strength right now with a shield currently since Starcallers don't have anything like "Int increases your armor value by a %" like it does for venomancers and sun clerics do atm. P.S. you should check if your spells need to be ranked up. XD

A few of the icons are from Diablo 3 I have seen it from some previous video that there was icon from demon hunter now the Cosmic Presence is mantra from Monk:)

I imagine that taunt is primarily anti-caster in PvE, where you can force the casters (or rangers) to come to you, while acting as a pseudo-silence against casters. Really good if you ask me.

havent tried coa yet, but the classes look goood, probably hard to balance but i like some imbalance only thing thats "bothering" me is that it will 'just' be vanilla content. because the classes are that strong they gotta buff the raids and yeah there is still m+ would be nice to see new content but i guess you cant expect that from the team. they are doing a amazing job tho and im thrilled to see how coa pve/pvp/gearing balance will turn out. also cant wait for a release date

When you healed SM, it drove me nuts that the tank kept getting ahead of you, and you didn't use your water puddle movement speed increase to keep up with his pulling speed.

For anyone else who sees these videos and think ascension looks cool: It is, but it is not noob friendly. Most people don't post optimized builds, and if you play with an unoptimized build most people will complain and drop group. I found/made a few builds that seem fairly viable, but even just on mythic dungeons if I pull marginally slower than a fully optimized tank about 1/3 or 1/4 players just immediately leave the group.

There is one guy in lvl 40 PvP that just stunlocks people till they die with starcaller. It's hard to deal with when playing a caster

Dont think that Torrent is bugged or wrong tooltip... I think it works as envisioned... you can "move" (turn) left-right to heal people around you... you cannot move front-back while casting...

the animation for torrent seems to be the one from the lurker in SSC, said it before and will say it again... skilless tanking where threat isnt an issue makes tanks so boring to play... any game where threat is never an issue is one i grow tired of as a tank very quickly... i agree some critical tools should be easier to obtain and threat is something that should always be balanced, but the idea of threat just never being an issue because you make so much sounds so dull (tank main in almost all games always)

The problem with threat issues is that you either have it or you dont, as long as people arent miserable at pressing their buttons. You either have enough gear to maintain threat, or you dont. No dps wants to stop dps because you arent strong enough. Therefore tanking in retail wow has moved to active mitigation and boss positioning, which I massively prefer.

@@paxtonjolly7975 No need to quote what retail have done, they took all the fun out of tanking and I tossed the game in long ago because of all the things you listed. Threat is a major mechanic, managing it is something that brings depth to an otherwise boring roll, and I will also say even when I was playing DPS if I could out threat the tank I was happy.. felt like I managed something I shouldn't be able to do and always made me smile. Finding the balance between threat/mitigation also always meant the tanks needed to find the right balance, it also means healers had something more to focus on “the threat tank is more squishy so he needs more attention” as soon as this major and primary mechanic is removed from tanks... the roll could be filled by a skill-less brain dead monkey, and It removes the only real fun aspect of tanking “fighting the DPS for control”

meh the pve on this server is gonna be soo faceroll easy. zzz geared pvp will be a bunch of instagib encounters. hope they balance this better. impressive flavor effects tho

They might listen to you but making some parody of a poem into a skill description is NOT GOOD game design. The suggestions tab on their discord is mostly trolls downvoting every post (ive seen the same 20 names dislike every single suggestion made since about 2 months ago). Keep it simple for basic spammeable abilities go crazy with big cds, i just cant make sense of what theyre going for.
