If you have the pressure you can use a high volume sprinkler head that will throw the water much further then the relatively small ones you are using. In the past I have drilled out the hole where the water comes out to increase water flow. I have two old Railbird impact sprinklers that throw water more that 50 Feet, that would sure help grow the grass without moving the sprinkler so often.

Your kids are amazing. They help out so much with chores.

Minnesota has been in a drought also. I watered areas of my lawn for over a week. Had some funky weird dead patches/winter snow "burn?". Got about 2 inches and it did look better. I am so thankful we do not have the heat temps like you, but anything over 75 is too hot for me. You all are doing so well by doing everything you humanely can do to protect and care for the animals. Carly gets "bouncy-happy" when you go in the pen with the goats and her. Hugs and love with GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Do not worry about what people think or say! I am 58 year old woman that gave that up years ago! My Lithuanian grandma used to tell me let cruel people, nasty people, people just being hateful towards you, put their hand on their rear and watch them walk away! You were a police officer putting your life and beloved family on the line for all uf us, the good and not so good!!! Now, you took a wife and made children and are raising them, worry about their thoughts of the family. If you do as God wants you will never go wrong. God wants you to be a good steward of the land and you are! It is unfortunate that people have to say on called for not helpful comments. We don't know their pain that makes them lash out. Helpful comments, like oh the same thing happened to my sprinkler stand here is what it did. That is helpful, not being hurtful. You are a great dad! Keep up the great work! You have come so far!

I know you have a wagon where you could pull that feed if you want but it would be nice to have a trolley cart that is taller with a pull handle. All of you sure love those animals! I had a grocery like pull cart that I miss so much. I moved and it got left behind somehow and I used it to put my groceries in and pull into kitchen. It made it so much easier and less trips. Gonna have to get another one.

Just a suggestion, you may want to get some ear protectors for when you are mowing. It really helps with the long term hearing damage as well as dust getting in the ears. You can find some that are cool foam for the heat issue too.

It is 101 here in central Iowa and we are in drought conditions. We had a little rain awhile back but it didn't change anything. We need a lot of rain. Really like your show and have been watching for a while. My Dad was from your state...during the dust bowl. Hard times for families...especially when his mom had 10 kids. Dad did hunting for food for the family. My Great Grandfather was Cherokee. Really love watching all your three kids and their personalities...they are all big helpers. That is a blessing that your house is starting to be built. I hope you guys get cooler weather soon as well. Nana

You might want to water at the evening time so it lets the water time to soak into the ground so the sun doesn’t evaporate it This should help keep your water bill down and less chance from getting sun scorching your grass from water droplets acting like a magnifying glass hopefully this helps I think it’s a great idea to try to have fresh grass for the animals it will add more nutrients and fluids to them instead of dry hay in this heat ❤

In the current heat index, it is not beneficial to water in the morning hours. It is best to water late in the evening (after 11pm) until about 5am. This allows the water to absorb into the land for the roots to grasp and hydrate from during the day. You may benefit from alternating the water spray to a second area every other day. 😊

I suggest put hay out for the animals anyway. I do this to save the pasture grass from being over grazed. Even before a drought. Goats really eat close to the ground which exposes the dirt which also drys out quicker. The longer the grass the longer the soil holds the moisture. Rotation grass land gives it a rest and to allow it to grow. As i said it's a suggestion.

Molting doesn’t have anything to do with the heat. It’s a natural process of getting rid of the old feathers for the new ones. It takes place at the end of summer /autumn. It starts at the head then neck and works it’s way down. There are tips to help your chickens with the process. Plenty of you tube videos discussing molting.

I feel for ya'll with this heat. Be careful. Also wanted to tell you if anyone in the family gets dehydrated from the weather , there is in the baby water areas IV like drink at Walmart. Highly recommend keeping a couple on hand . It would help . Dizziness , not sweating, not able to go to the bathroom #1 much all signs of dehydration. I'm sure I missed a few. Has a teen I had multiple times gotten dehydrated. But I didn't know the signs . Had Charlie horses and muscle spasms too. Has I got older -g'ma here- I wished I'd known back then . We had no A/C. In the 70's we had excessive heat wave. I remember they were jokes about " It's so hot you could>>fry an egg on the sidewalk etc. I feel for you all.
