I'm 70, this song came out when I was 14. Man, between the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Allman Brothers,etc.etc. All these musicians in this small window of time.

The title track to one of the greatest albums from 1970, which was a beautiful blending of jazz, r&b, blues and Irish folk. The entire album is superb from start to finish. "And It Stoned Me", "Caravan", "Into the Mystic" and "Brand New Day" should be explored too. Wonderful reaction.

Van is actually a saxophonist so it's no surprise that that he had a love for Jazz & composed a song that crossed both it and Rock into a timeless classic. Hard to believe that its over 50 years old.

This is definitely my favourite Van Morrison song, just one of my favourite songs in general, got some fond memories entwined with the melody, that may be why. Surprised you didn't know it, but what a bonus for us that you didn't. Great reaction Harri, thank you so much. ✌❤

Awe-inspring song from Van the Man. The entire album is classic. Special mention has been made about the bass playing by John Klingberg, who was only in the band for a couple of years. Sadly due to illness and the ravages of substance abuse he passed in 1985 at 39. And he was not strictly speaking a jazz player. He came up playing trumpet and bass with r&b cover bands in New York City before somehow connecting with Van Morrison when this was recorded in A&R Studios in NY. Thanks Neal and Harri.

This song will forever remind me of Frazier, one of the greatest sitcoms in TV history.. and the episode when the Niles character finally gets to dance with Daphne Moon, his ongoing but untouchable crush. I think the episode was called "Moondance". Sheer brilliance, both the song and the TV episode.

An absolutely beautiful song from Van from his 1970 album, " Moondance". A wonderful album saturated in folk, jazz, country and soul, this being one of his most successful jazz compositions. The funky piano by Jeff Labes, the sax and flute accents, Van on the accoustic guitar delivering a wonderful romantic vibe in the lyrics and melody. An absolute treasure. Great reaction Harri, glad you discovered another Van masterpiece. Great choice Neal. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦

"moondance" is a great song. van morrison began with a british r&b band named "them" who released some great 60s classics as "baby, please don't go," "here comes the night" and "gloria." my favorite van morrison solo album is "his band and the street choir" (1970). van's wonderful use of horns really shine in such great songs "domino" and "blue money." thanks for the video and great music choice.

I would rather not get myself frustrated thinking of how rare it is to hear a song like "Moondance" by Van Morrison. Even when I first heard it was at the theater, not on the radio. It was in the movie "An American Werewolf In London" (1981). 43 years ago, harri.

From what I've learned of Van Morrison, "Moondance" is an aberration. I really thought this jazz fusion genre was a natural musical creative part of Van Morrison. It's the same experience I had with the song "Love Changes (live)" by Mother's Finest. That's why I had to be cautious when buying albums back then, harri.
