Being in food service, one of our required tasks is frig/freezer temp checks twice a day with a log sheet for each unit. Never trust the built in displays. Always have inside thermometers inside on middle shelf. Keep frig at 34 and freezer at -2. Keep evaporater pans and drains clear and clean. Get business interuption insurance. Do a weekly or at least monthly inventory so you know your cost of goods. You all can do this.

Just ordered two of them.. Last summer while we were on vacation lost power in the garage and lost 1/4 of a beef we had just bought and all the veggies we had harvested. Good idea for sure!

Ben you always have great ideas!! This is another one of them and we ended up getting one of these after our freezer became accidentally unplugged and of course we didn’t realize it until hundreds of dollars of food was melting and there was an enormous puddle on the floor that we had to figure out where it was coming from. Everything had to be tossed because we had no clue how long the freezer had been unplugged and thawing. It was an enormous cost to us and I was so angry! Now we have a probe in our freezer and an alert on it if it rises above a certain temperature because it’s an upright freezer and sometimes the door doesn’t get closed just right and can cause it to start thawing as well. Freezers can be wonderful but they can also be enormous headaches! God bless and thanks for sharing!🥰❤️🇨🇦🙏🏻🍁

Lower your excursion temperatures! This will allow you to check your freezer long BEFORE you're at risk of losing all that food! I'd set the alarm at 10°F

Well being these are being open regularly form shoppers the alarms are going off several times at where they are set. Next purchase with the other Temp Sticks is the buffers and I’ll end up using the probes.

Try numbering your freezers for ease of location, 1-2-3-4 etc. 👍

Oh how I wish I'd had that mor than once the past 10yrs! I've lost 3 freezers full of mostly meat in the past 7-8yrs, and it's heartbreaking and such a waste. Wish I had known about those a few years ago. Had a 21 cf FULL of meat. The bad part is it was brand new when it went out. Sure it was under warranty but it took them 2 months to get here. Let me tell you I was a canning fool for a while. Got it fixed and it went out again. Was not happy I can tell you. One of those would have been a lifesaver.

These monitors will make a difference. 2 months ago our chest freezer decided it was going to mess with us. I reached in to pull out ground beef to make for dinner. The beef wasn't frozen. It was thawed out, and just cold. More than half the meat in the entire freezer was thawed and not at a safe temperature. Apparently, the freezer decided it was going to give us the middle finger. We had to throw out a lot of meat. Any meat still frozen solid was moved to our other freezers. My husband got on the internet immediately, and ordered 3 digital freezer alarms. The alarms tell us the current temperatures of each freezer. It alerts us if any freezer goes below a set temperature by cell phone. Since purchasing, and setting up these alarms, we' ve not had another problem. Having freezer alarms makes a big difference in saving money, and food.

Be sure not to place the bridge close to a window , any signal can bounce back off the glass and not reach, signal will pass through the walls better

Guess you guys didn't make it to the "Meet up" at the lake. Seems like a large "missed opportunity" to meet more KZfaq content creators in your area. Understand there were around 400 people there. The potential to add those KZfaqrs & their subscribers to your channel could have been substantial, not to mention the potential new customers that you could have picked up for your beef & pork sales (a lot of them are raising chickens or goats but aren't set up for cattle or hogs).
