FYI: Just a heads up Curtis. I'm not sure, in your application, you are running it for long enough periods of time, but watch out for freezing. You'll see frost build up on the tank and eventually, your valve/regulator can freeze. This is common when running propane forges for blacksmith work. Most will put the tank in a barrel of water to keep the temp of the tank up. And if I'm not mistaken, you can even get heated regulators. It's caused by the high flow of the liquid propane evaporating into gas form, much like an air conditioner works. Forges use 1 or 2 tanks commonly with only 1 or 2 nozzles. So with the number of nozzles you have there, your flow rate could be much higher, increasing the speed of freeze up. Last thing you want is a valve/regulator frozen open. Just something to tell staff to watch for. Otherwise, nifty tool!

Awesome! I have the frames and wheels from some old wheelchairs. I believe I could easily make one. A couple small changes would probably happen as well. I would center the triangular frame instead of offsetting it but the handle would be adustable so it could be slid from side to side or left dead center. I would also make the frame hinged similar to a lawnmower handle for easier storage and transportation. Also i would add a bracket so i could link two together and flame two beds etc at the same time. Cant wait to pull out the angle grinder and welder. Keep up the inspiring videos!

This tool is the same thing that's used to apply rubber bitumen roofing. We call it the (Dragon Wagon) I'm not sure about it's cost, but they are available in various different configurations depending more on the size of the tanks used. Most use a forty pounder, but some use a hundred pounder with a third wheel mounted closer the handle bars.

Hola Curtis. I’ll like to see a video about your struggles (if any). How do you handle adversities on the daily operations (running short on product or supplies, customers that don’t pay, non productive employees, etc). What’s the “dark side of farming? Thanks

The dark side is that he's dealing with restaurant "entrepreneurs" who have strange cash-flow patterns and want everything "fronted" and they'll maybe pay when they get around to it. Imagine trying to negotiate a lettuce contract with The Chinese Buffet in Urbana, Illinois for instance. Nobuddy speeky engrish.

Would love to hear your feedback on how this affects microbial life? Obviosly you kill them, but do you find that it kills so much that you have to reinoculate? Your thoughts? Also, does the machine have the sort of control necessary to be used to burn holes in your sunbelt tarps? I like the template idea with the single burner but could this possibly save time? I feel like this could be a multi purpose tool with many applications. Thanks for the review. Grow on!

How bad are the fumes coming off the machine inside the greenhouse?
@firecloud77
@firecloud77 6 жыл бұрын
When propane is fully combusted it consumes oxygen and releases equal parts carbon dioxide and water vapor. So not only was he heating the greenhouse he was also adding a lot of humidity to the air, which makes him sweat more than he otherwise would have. Carbon monoxide is only an issue if the propane isn't burning completely. You can tell if the propane is partially combusting if the flame is yellow or red instead of blue.

Gotta be honest, it looks like the center flame gets WAY more flame that the outer ones, unless they have accounted for that with different diameter holes, which they probably did. Big holes at the end and smaller holes in the middle. Needs electric ignition x5 , even though that would probably be a nightmare because those little electric igniters are always breaking, lol..

Urban Farmer Curtis Stone Both Charles Boston and john cabauatan (see below) seem to think that they can improve on this tool and at a cheaper price. They also seem to be experienced tradesmen. Competition both improves things and drives the price down so more people benefit. Maybe this niche market of specialty farm tools needs some competition and some genuine support and even partnerships with knowledgeable farmers such as yourself. REPLY

So Charles Boston and John Cabautan are making a flameweeder? Where is it? What are they going to improve? Sure, they might be able to make a flameweeder, but they are going to need a few thousand dollars just to prototype something near the pyroweeder, then after they spend all that money, how do they expect to make back initial investments, labor and material cost with half the price... that plan is so unfeasible, I can see why they haven't made anything yet.
