I think you have to slow down when you're playing this, it seems like you're in a rush and it causes mistakes that i don't think would be there. Don't let us distract you as a viewer or for the content, this game is tight. Feel free to take all the time you need, i usually watch the full episodes of this game because its actually a very cool concept.

Why do you use a relic to make a piece move like a knight that already moves like a knight?

I've used the fool to put the enemy in zugzwang a couple times in the last two fights, the ones involving Andromeda. Basically if they ever dared to move Andromeda they are instantly dead, and any king move leaves them vulnerable to checkmate in the next move or two. All the other pieces were paralyzed by my Gorgon.

When you have the snake eating tail relic you get more rewinds every map so you needn't be so stingy with them. Also if you hover your mouse over the sword in the top left of the screen it will highlight all of the squares attacked by your opponent so there will be fewer instances of a missed move coming out of nowhere to kill you.

I bought the game today and after 91 minutes and 3 failed attempts I beat it. Like any roguelike, you gotta have a bit of luck. Lessons learned: 1. Pin everything. 2. The glass queen sounds horrible, but is actually amazing. 3. Go to some ruins. I got an item where every 3 moves I can move twice, but never the same piece twice. The double check tactics make short work of the bosses. 4. I'm pretty sure the only unit worth upgrading is the bishop. 5. Knights are useless. 6. The immortal moves slowly. Don't try to kill it, pin it and go for checkmate.

Play with pawns and with the artifact which makes them immortal, its basically queens

Honestly the hardest thing are the fucking immortals every AI seems to have. Did someone find a way to deal with them?

I actually beat it first try but that was pure luck. I got assassin, unit can kill rock relic and place a rock at the start relic. It basically turns into finding mate in 2 simulator using the rock to jump assassin, fork their piece and geometry it into the king.

You could took by your berserk opponent's king in one turn so much time. It was hard yo watch)

Hmm I just beat the game on my first try after buying it on 100% AI difficulty but with easiest start settings (500 gold and so on). Unsure if I just was lucky, I gonna flex anyway xD. 2200 lichess blitz rating. But it definitely was fun! I enjoy your content Jonathan, also the Risk side quest, it's fun for strategic thinkers like us chess players.
