Absolutely right Simon. The golf swing starts with a swinging motion - swinging the weight of the clubhead to create momentum and speed. This creates natural sequencing to stay on plane. This is why amateurs struggle. They are not actually swinging the club at all.

That makes the most sense of any of the tips on golf that I've seen. I've recently adopted only one swing thought and that is contact with the ball and my swing is now smooth and easy. As a result the ball flight is better and so much straighter with even a baby draw rather than the push slice I had. Prior to this I was focusing on my shoulder turn far too much. Thank you Simon and Liam.

When I learned this back in the early 1990's, I went from an 18 handicapped golfer to a single digit golfer in less than a 6 months. ( I was working in retail Golf Pro shop...so I had plenty of time to work in our cage. ) The only thing different I had to do was keeping my legs still...as I have had multiple knee surgeries. My swing ended up looking like a golfer in a fairway bunker hitting a long iron or fairway wood. It's why I rarely used my driver, as I used a Yonex ADX 13° 3 wood off the tee.

Thank you Simon. You gave lesson to ebay some time agao and mentioned Earnest Jones and swing the clubhead. From my research I then learnt of Manuel De La Torre who expanded on Earnests work. Has totally changed my game for the better. This only reinforces that principle, take it on board Golf Mates.

I went to a Faults and Fixes day with Simon and Adam. I couldn't believe how simple their instructions were. Nothing over complicated and easy to implement. Unfortunately, I am now awaiting a knee replacement so haven't been able to put it into practice much but have written it down so that I can remind myself.

Many years ago Simon claimed in a golf magazine that he could get anyone drawing the ball. So I booked a lesson with him at the time he was at Carden Park. I warmed up shanking the ball like crazy. I won’t say what the method was but in less than 10 minutes Simon got me hitting high and low draws. Notice some nasty comments in the feed about Simon. Very unfair in person he is a great teacher and was a very good player.

I think Percy Boomer had something like this where he said something on the order of whatever wins the race to the top (back swing) wins the race back to the ball. Here hands/arms win the race to the top and then start and win the race through the ball.

We all interpret things differently , Simon feels his arms momentum pulls him through I must admit I was always told the dog wags his tail not the tail wags the dog and power came from the legs driving hips down and around when the weight shifts more on your front foot and the arms swing up and down gaining momentum when you do causing the arms to swing through trying to catch up the turn with hand rotating in the swing so that the back of it turns through the ball as your going through the ball. I do agree however with Simon that arms play a big part and it not just a body turn and shall be attempting to allow it to happen getting my arms in position starting my swing before I do

I have a bit of a grievance with you Liam in the nicest possible way. You know I'm a OG golf mate from back in the days when Mr B was being called the D**k !! You have all these different lessons from time to time Dave the pro , Danny maude, Simon ect ect but when I watch a lot of the videos you've changed the swing that many times you always revert back to the over the top and get that big slinging slice and always say I came out of that . My point being mate you've got the Greatest coach on the channel OMP all you need to do is listen to the advice he's gonna give you I'm sure with all his year's of experience he can get you consistently playing the same swing or shot . Keep the faith 😂

The shoulders connect the body and the arms. Shure looks like the left shoulder went under his chin. This is more about taking the club too far inside on the golf swing. Maybe his thought works for some, but doesn't make sense to me. Simon has made many useful tips, but this in not among the best.
