A couple of things I don't know if you get enough credit for but are worth mentioning for sure: Your willingness to cancel a flight or to go to an alternate, and your consistent, stabilized, well planned out, approaches. By the book every time. You make it look a lot easier than it is.

Agree totally. Its already drilled into me from previous careers that it’s imperative to operate by company/organisation policy/procedure. It’s their equipment and reputation at risk so they have created the risk management methods. Masterful piloting in this environment in my opinion.

Didn't realize til today how close to the center of town the Goroka airport is. I mean, SMACK dab in the middle of what google maps considers the town's boundaries. Will be curious to look at the map again in a few years time to see if it gets built up more over on the east side of the runways. Also interesting to see that there's 2 coffee businesses right there on Airport Rd.

Define your own GPS instrument approach, with altitude guidance. Find out the means to couple it with the autopilot. Fly it and maximize the margins to terrain, and most importantly evaluate the best approach speeds. define the minimum descent altitude and/or the go around location. Locator beacons , not in service are available, or simply radio stations receivable by ADF.

As an Engineer /Pilot, reliance on electronic items isn't good I found a "Cheat Sheet" Early on in my Civilian aviation career working on European Airports on Both Boeing and Airbus aircraft with fuel being delivered in either Pound's, Kilo's Litres, or US Gallons. Then having to convert it into Pounds or Kilo's with Pilots asking for Metric Tons ie:- 1000 KGs and also having to work out the SG for the fuel each refuel I did we found a flow chart that was simple to follow and it would arrive at the weights we required. As you can imagine being asked for for a fuel up lift of 9 Tonnes and the Refuel truck is delivering in US Gallons and the Aircraft is an old British BAC1-11 with Cockpit gauges in pounds and the SG was 0.79 it was confusing but it was not dependant on Electrical power and you could work it through to the end and lucky for us the Weight and Balance was worked out to the Fuel asked for but as a Private Pilot who flew a PA32 both Fixed gear and Retractable with 6 people working out weight and balance was something I was keen to get right so learnt to do it

Hey Ryan. Loving your new content. I've subscribed and have become a patron albeit the free membership for now. I did purchase your Learn to fly the Kodiak for simulators package last year and found that to be well worth every penny and now I love flying your PNG flights in the Kodiak in Msfs. If I could ask a couple of questions of you if and when you have the time to answer them. Are you using the Garmin G1000 NXI suite for your avionics? Also I would love to get my hands on your Load Calculator and Fuel Calculator spreadsheet. Would be the perfect add on to use whilst planning my sim flights. Thanks for giving us viewers a front row seat in your Kodiak. Fly safe.
