@@Born2Punch I think you missed the point. I was comparing the V12 5litre with more HP and torque than a 4litre Barra. It's barely 10% heavier too. Also, it's not marketed as a performance car, it's all about smoothness and comfort. Style and luxury. Nobody who buys it is seriously interested in its performance. As Rolls Royce used to say, performance is adequate.
@Born2Punch
@Born2Punch 2 жыл бұрын
@@ianhelyar6383 yeah I know that...but what's the point of shoving a V12 in there. Makes no sense. It's not like a 2 tonne car needs a V12 to move "adequately".

Did you know Australian polllies also travelled in a car with cigarette lighters in each door, velour seats and door trims, as well as a fully electronic dash. It was the DL LTD built between 1984 and 1988. My mum who worked in the public service was once taken home in one with Comcar, and were built here with pride. Something we have given up. Japan still understands the allure of old school luxury cosseting transport.

The XF Fairmont Ghia had the short wheelbase body but with the same luxuries as the Fairlane but with the LTD velour.trim.
