My Mum was in London (at work) when she heard their music reverberating from the heavens, she - and many others, including their supervisors just walked out of offices and started to follow the music coming from Savile Row. She said they were like moths to moonlight, mesmerised and spellbound. A crowd gathered at the base of the Apple building as local bobby's (police) tried to figure out what to do... she and many others just stared upwards. Those times! Must have been magical.

It's not hard to believe it only took 22days if you consider the massive number of people working for them and the low quality of songs like this. There's hardly a pro band in America who couldn't do at least as well as produce something as good (bad) as this song. The song's only value is stylistically. Otherwise, there is nothing above average about the lyrics, arrangement, or vocals.

@@merlball8520 for a nothin' bunch of jokers from Liddypool they did pretty good for themselves. Many, many, many of those professional musicians/ bands were inspired by and driven into music by these four rag tag teddy boys. Amazingly The Beatles actually lead the way in helping to change music, the appearance of everything around us and our mindset. I've lived on both sides of the British invasion and know what it was like before it happened and know how its been since. Final thought, with the assassination of JFK the people of the United States was hurting. It was a depressing time and a depressing place. The Beatles happened to be in the right place at the right time. Think about it, it could have been you.

What a contribution from Billy Preston on this song. I think his playing really gave this song its signature sound. His presence, as requested by George Harrison, definitely eased the tension during those recording sessions. I believe John and George wanted Billy to join the band but Paul was opposed and said “it’s bad enough with 4.” In a demo of this, after the last chorus, John yells “take it, Bill!” Billy would play on the solo records of John, George and Ringo. He was an incredible musician and well respected by the popular artists. He wrote You Are So Beautiful even though Joe Cocker’s version is probably the most popular.

It was a full concert on the rooftop. This is from the Wikipedia article: On 30 January 1969, the Beatles performed an unannounced concert from the rooftop of their Apple Corps headquarters at 3 Savile Row, within central London's office and fashion district. Joined by keyboardist Billy Preston, the band played a 42-minute set before the Metropolitan Police asked them to reduce the volume. It was the final public performance of their career. Although the concert was conceived just days before, the Beatles were planning a return to live performances throughout the early sessions for their album Let It Be (1970). They performed nine takes of five songs as crowds of onlookers, many of whom were on their lunch break, congregated in the streets and on the roofs of local buildings. The concert ended with the conclusion of "Get Back", with John Lennon joking, "I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we've passed the audition." Footage from the performance was used in the 1970 documentary film Let It Be and the 2021 documentary series The Beatles: Get Back. The first performance of "I've Got a Feeling" and single takes of "One After 909" and "Dig a Pony" were also featured on the accompanying album. On 28 January 2022, the audio of the full rooftop performance was released to streaming services under the title Get Back - The Rooftop Performance. In February 2022, Disney released the entire concert sequence as presented in The Beatles: Get Back in IMAX as The Beatles: Get Back - The Rooftop Concert. It had a limited theatrical engagement.

I've heard them when I was 7 and didn't understand English, I'm 40 now and they are still my favourite band ever, bring me back to life every time I hear them when I'm sad or feeling exhausted. I've watched a few of your reaction videos about the Beatles and it's amusing that 30 seconds into each clip your pause the video and say that "this is my favorite Beatles song". I'm 70 and grew up listening to the Beatles at every opportunity and I just love their work. Some people today struggle to understand the impact they had (and are still having) but you had to be alive in the late 50s, early 60s to know the kind of music that was being played at that time. Yes, there were some rockers but you also had Sinatra, Como, Belafonte and others who were crooners. Suddenly The Beatles were there with their very different sound that captured the world. There will never be another band to influence music as much as The Beatles. Always was and always will be number 1.

Billy Preston's keyboards are so integral to the vibe of this song. The Beatles first met him very early in their career, in Hamburg, and kept up a friendship through the 1960s. He happened to be in London during the Let It Be sessions and was invited to join them in the studio and his contribution became so important to those sessions, and to them getting their groove back after being somewhat disheartened at that point in their working and personal relationship. Truly one of the "fifth" Beatles (Brian Epstein, George Martin, Stu Sutcliffe, Pete Best....)

There has never been a musical group in history with the magnetic pull of the Beatles. They were a vortex channelling the unfettered power of the gods. Their impact on popular music is immeasurable. They pulled crowds so big around their touring hotels, the traffic had to be diverted. Elvis never did that. I remember watching a replay of a live recording of Hey Jude that ran past the allocated time just before the national news. Ordinary, the show would be cut off, right? No, not for the Beatles.
