I was born in 1990 in Chicago and moved to South Florida with my family when I was an infant. My family, all blackhawks fans, instilled the love of the game in me right as the Panthers franchise was born. I played roller and ice hockey growing up and only cared about the Panthers. For my entire life I've been waiting for this moment. All true Panthers fans have. It's happening but it doesn't feel real. This isn't "supposed" to happen to our beloved Panthers, but they're making it happen. So many storylines. Losing Huberdeau only to get Tkachuk. PoMo getting bashed and treated like shit throughout most of the season as we learned his new systems and struggled with injuries. Bobrovsky earning his insane contract but having that contract make cap space difficult for us, only to be reborn even better than his Vezina-winning self of old at the most crucial time of the year. I don't even know what to say, man. This is insane. Thank you Johnny for covering our team and giving them the respect they've earned this post season.

A week ago on every hockey channel - "What is wrong with the Maple Leafs choking so hard, no accountability!" Today on every hockey channel - "Can anyone stop the juggernaut that is the Florida Panthers" lol

Amazing to think they were down 3-1 in the first round against Boston, the team with the best regular season in NHL history, then miraculously forced a game 7 and were then one minute away from losing and being eliminated, only to score with the extra man and win in overtime. Now it seems like only a week later they’re one win away from going to the finals. Unreal comeback.

After watching Bobrovsky play like this and hearing how humble he is in the interview has really made me a Bob fan. I was rooting for Carolina after my Avs lost but Florida has payed their dues and would have definitely earned this cup

Bob has won this Panthers team 3 games against the leafs, 3 games against the Canes, and 2 games against the Bruins. I can only think of his performance as 2020 Price like.

As a Panthers fan since day 1, this was a long time coming. Many many many years of mediocrity has led to this. I’m also a Heat fan. This run we’re on is dream coming into fruition right before my very eyes. Not only are my teams winning, but they are doing it in dominant fashion. It’s truly beautiful to see. Every day is a playoff game around here and they keep winning!! It’s insane. Let’s keep it going, I’m enjoying the hell out of this.

I told my coworker the other day that Florida is riding the momentum and confidence since beating Boston, he said its more than that, he said they've been playing playoff hockey since January and that they fought hard just to get into the playoffs. He finished with teams that can have that kind of mentality are the ones to watch out for come the post season

Panthers fan here. I felt like we were winning the Cup after we won game 7 against Boston. I can't believe that I'm possibly going to be at the game that sends us to the Cup Finals IN PERSON on Wednesday!

As a panthers fan I remember thinking they wouldn’t even make the playoffs this time. I knew as soon as they beat Boston they’d made a cup run. They haven’t beaten Carolina yet but 5 wins away from the cup. Never thought I’d see this.I remember when we traded for bob and on the home opening game they played a clip at the arena where bob said he picked Florida because he wanted a cup. That very well may come true now.

As a bruins fan, I knew it once they beat us. I got them at +1100 after that series. You could tell they had it. Hockey is different than any other sport. Like you said, goaltenders are key. You need them to steal 2 games per series. If they do that, you can't lose. just gotta get hot. They've done it multiple ways.

You missed mentionning Anthony Duclair. He has been one lf the best in both ways of the ice. Its an incredible team who works well together. The perfect match

Absurdly talented team that won presidents trophy last year is not shocking. A team that made the playoffs on the last day of the season and came back from down 3-1 to the greatest #1 seed in league history however is something else.

This is pure magic and you're 100% correct, to have this kind of run from a Cinderella, it takes a lot of pixie dust getting trucked down I-95 from WDW to Sawgrass Mills. Thing is, it's getting shipped down to Miami, too. The Heat and Panthers are nearly identical in (W-L) in the post season but, both go from an eight seed to knocking off the one seeds, no home court/ice advantage at all during the series, contributions from both the Heat bench and all four-five lines from the Panthers, plus both teams are putting up defensive play that is sucking the air off the ice and court. This is a Thirty-for Thirty (30-for -30) special being made, history in the same sports market. A sports producer and executive producer's dream not because it hasn't ever been done before but because of the backstory on how both teams backed into the playoffs and shocked the world, in a lock step dance. It's not written yet and the finals still have to be played. But, what a year to live in SoFL. FAU nearly upsets the college basketball world making it to the Final Four and now this. I wish some of the pixie-dust mojo will rub-off on the Marlins and the Fins!

When the Flyers traded him I knew it was a huge mistake. Bob is definitely a Stanley Cup caliber goalie.

Why is everyone surprised?? It's playoff hockey! It's the most insane playoffs out of the major team sports. Hell, you just need a hot goalie. Especially when it's "BOBROVSKY'!!!

I've been a fan since I hopped on the bandwagon in '96. Unfortunately, living in the "south" all my life, I didn't grow up with hockey, but when I found the sport I stayed. My son has grown up playing hockey and become a suffering fan just like me. While we travelled to different rinks around the state, anything outside of the 3 S.E. Florida counties was all decked out in Lightning stuff. I just hope that this helps gets more people interested in the game, and that more kids see this and want to play. I'm not counting on anything yet, but, this does feel special, and it's been a very long 27 years to truly have this feeling again.

The Cats remind me of the 2004 Calgary Flames: making the playoffs, big players showing up in key games, goaltender standing on his head, always being the lower seed but then going on to take out all the best teams in the first 3 rounds…and plus the feeling…it just _feels_ the same. Nobody said you can't win with Reinhart. He was liked in Buffalo and still is. Eichel was the problem, but I'm sure the players wanted fresh starts regardless. All the power to him, I hope Reinhart wins it!

Agree 100%, Bob is seeing everything in slow motion. Dropping the stick so his blocker could reach the puck in time, insane save. I used to do that when I was his age 😄. But also consider the Hurricanes hit the post 3 or 4 times. So, it could have gone either way.

Reminds me soooo much of the 2016-17 Preds. Crazy good goalie stealing games against teams who on paper are better (Pekka Rinne), The team barely getting in with the WORST record in the playoffs, and then proceeding to beat the President Trophy winner (As the Preds did to Chicago that year). If they sweep Carolina, I don’t know what to think anymore. Maybe Dallas or Vegas can stop them? I’m not sure anymore after tonight.

I said the day the Flames traded Bennett away, he'd have his name on a cup long before Johnny or Monny would. Don't discount what Sammy's bringing to the ice. He's this thing you keep in a glass-fronted box with a sign on it that says, "Break in case of playoffs".

An interesting thing to note about the hurricanes is that they are 0-11 in their last 11 eastern conference finals games. If Florida wins Wednesday, the hurricanes will get swept for the THIRD consecutive eastern conference finals. Crazy.

BOB is just the shit! He’s a polite, nice likable guy that makes cheering for him pretty easy. I can’t say that about every Florida player but it’s the (what about Bob) reason I’m pulling for the Panthers.

There is a thing about Sergey Bobrovsky that we, Russians, know very well. Sometimes I feel some Americans understand what type of goalie he is but looks like not everybody so sometimes some videos are kind of making "wow" on him whereas for me there is nothing special. Let me clarify his goalie type so it will never be confusing again. Sergey has a brilliant technique, from my personal perspective one of the best if not the best in the world. If my personal judgement can be taken away nobody should doubt about his goalie technique. By saying technique I mean all sort of skills including physical characteristics like stretching for example. He is not ideal in all sorts of technique, for example the way he passing is surely a weak side of skills but I would not really pay attention to it because goalkeeper doesnt need to be a good assistant, stop the pack very well, and play with the pack like "field" players do. So speaking of exact goalie technique he is brilliant. But! There is a big but. The other side of coin is his stability. Sergey`s stability is a pure catastrophy, a nightmare. Stability is the weakest side of Bobrovsky, its sort of payout or the some sort of punishment for having such a technique. Everybody can analyze his career and find enough evidence for this understanding. Mixing all together Sergey Bobrovsky is a "big cannon" type of goalkeeper. By picturing him this way I mean his ability to rumble, if the cannon shots - it very loud and powerful, BUT the reload time is way too long, it takes ages. This play-off is just that time when the cannon is loaded and ready to fire. But do not expect him to play like this forever. He will soon will go for reloading. Its an often discussion does he cost his 10 mil per year? Does he play for this price? And if you ask Russians you will receive the answer of no. Unfortunately. We love Sergey but we just understand that spending 40 mil for getting into the final might be way too much, way too expensive. However, right now the money is already paid, so Florida is interested to win the trophy and not to worry about his salary. So lets just hope that cannon reloading will start after the play-offs, not earlier.

I am new on the Cats bandwagon- but, wow, I really was absolutely shocked and grateful when they knocked out the Boston Bruins- I was born and raised in Montreal (am a Habs fan) so I naturally detest the Bruins- then didn't think the Panthers could knock off Toronto and they proved me wrong! now I am in the Cats corner, but!!!, still had my doubts they could knock off Carolina- another contender- and here are the cats- who have much more then 9 lives still marching toward their (hopefully) 1st Cup!!!

This goes to show that Goaltending wins games in playoffs. As an Oilers fan, I hope they will finally learn this lesson

This is a prime example for those that think high goal scoring is what makes for good hockey. It is the compete level that makes a great game, not the final score. It can be 1-0 or 5-6, if both teams are going the best they can muster, and there are nothing but stellar play with few mistakes its just the best game on earth. Sometimes something special happens when a team is pretty much out of it early and they have nothing left to lose. The claw back into the playoff picture and from the deficit to the bruins has removed all fear of failure from this team. They have hit that spot where they just play and cant wait for the next game to just play again. This is one hell of a series for a 3-0 one.
