Lexi had shoes on so complainers should be happy about that. I grew up on a farm in Australia and was barefoot most of the time. Somehow I'm still alive at 74.

What a beautiful place you have! Loved the tour. Lexi is a quiet one compared to her big brother! That is probably a great trait to have. God does love silence. Love that she and the pup seem to have a great bond. I can't believe Xander is already SEVEN!!!! Happy Birthday, Xander! He is growing up way too fast. I’m not a designer in any way, but I think those wooden pillars are actually making your farmhouse more modern, but still looking like a farmhouse. Redbuds grow very quickly and are gorgeous in the spring. They don’t get huge but big enough to create shade and interest. My lot in my neighborhood is just under 1/2 an acre and I have several planted. Right now they’re at their peak with blossoms and are stunning. My neighbors comment every year how beautiful they are. Other great ones I have that grow quickly are cherry, dogwood, Teddy bear magnolias, Little Gem magnolias and saucer magnolias (Jane, Japanese, etc).

We used to have a bank barn & our swing was fastened from the peek. We had so much fun! Playing in the granary & sliding down the huge straw pile. Good memories! Love your personality. 😊

You have a beautiful place!❤ Trees are life. I would plant a bunch of trees all around the yard for shelter/greenery. When we bought our place, we planted Prairie poplars they grow incredibly fast, in 5 years from twig to full 40" tall With your big yard, I would plant lots of fruit trees as well, oh the potential 🌳 Thanks for giving us a tour of your place. 🏡 Your kids are so adorable, I have 6 grandkids, and oh, how precious God's children are. Don't tell the authorities, but when I was nearly 7, we moved from a small town/suburb to the country. There was even a barn and I had never seen one of those before. Half of the salt shaker barn was caved in, but the other half had lofts and stalls. In the destroyed area, there were still beams and debris on the ground with lots of nails everywhere. We played in the barn all the time. Up yonder from the barn was the remains of probably a chicken coop. Again, lots of nails, etc. but we played there a lot, too.

Hello Jeaninne, The homestead tour was perfect! I loved the swing in the barn. I'm so glad you chose to give the 🏠 a face lift (huge repairs) when you did. The cost of materials has tripled. It will take time to make all the repairs you envision and acquire the animals you hope to raise. I can already see it in my mind. Xander is such a handsome boy. He's all boy! 🪨 🏈 I remember past b'days and the sweet innocent responses, how they grow! Thank you for providing them the best home life, God, work, and fresh air. Dad&Mom. ❤ 🎁

Yes, a Pergola would be what I would suggest for the concrete pad/fireplace. You could make a dining area with table/chairs as well as a sitting area. And since there is electric out there you can add the lovely outdoor lights so it's nice and cozy. If you wanted to and the budget allowed you could even add a small kitchen out there with a grill, gas stove burner, a sink, & small fridge. That would be a wonderful place to hang out in the summer when you aren't out camping. And a great place to entertain if you are into that. You have a lovely place! The barn idea sounds wonderful.

Aww he is a good boy, and we spent weekend's at my aunt and uncles farm because my horse was there and my core family are some of the healthy's folk I know, so in my book a country life is better, and wee Lexie is soooooooooo cute. Oh my hearing Zander read those long lists gave me nostalgia, but I’m glad those days are behind me ! 😅 every evening timing the first grader in the family. At that time our children went to a church school that pushed them quiet hard .

It has always been a dream of mine to live on a farm but at age 64 I don’t think that will happen. My favourite drive is out in the country looking at farms and old stone houses. My parents were raised on farms and my dad always said cow manure made him homesick. He recently passed and I fondly get a smile on my face when I smell the “farm smells”
